Spoken intro that does it for me..... Trippin' On Your Love - The Staple Singers. Sends me Goosey every time. WOOF!
  5. Made in Australia. Printed up for and sold to people who are too tight and too lazy to get the original vinyl. WOOF!
  6. The Brothers Of Soul - I'd Be Grateful. A love letter set to music. Nuff said. WOOF!
  7. I'd have thought that this was a throwback sound dating from the mid sixties..... Which is why it would have sold so poorly WOOF!
  8. Missed both of my favourites off: Without A Doubt - Okeh (also like the UK recording of this) Since I Lost My Baby's Love - Volt WOOF!
  9. Here Pete, A friend of mine told me you were a bit partial to the odd one or two of these... Don't quite understand your liking for em myself. WOOF!

Cracking record...... Love the flip as well "Hold On Baby" Demo or issue? WOOF!
  12. Only way to get around it is to not buy the records at the inflated price.... but phone them up to give them a bollocking.... Do you think they'd soon get sick of it and start pricing them as per the guide? One thing to say in Ovenchips favour... set sale prices on his site are often less than the guide..... especially on items like 5 Royalyes that's currently up..... Auction value £500, current set sale listing £400. WOOF!

Proposed Ground rules are: 1. U.S original 45s only. 2. Must be currently available for less than £50 in EX condition. 3. Must be 'Northern' in style. 4. Must be a Dancer. So this means...... No UK (or other foreign release). No Goldmine 7s. No Grapevine. No Boots. No Dodgy Acetates. No battered copies of £200 records. No 'Oh I paid a tenner for Sam Dees' Lonely in 1988' WOOF!

How about inviting a small panel of Soul Sourcers to help judge? Either that or use Johnny Ovenchips Guide as final judge... that would make it harder as most £50 are more in there...... WOOF!

Lookin' forward to it...... I know some of the DJs are already sweating thinking about it...... WOOF!

  20. Now I know you are taking the piss. WOOF!
  21. It's like Chinese water torture..... the first few drops can be quite refreshing..... when you've been hit with it loads of times it gets bloody annoying...... It's an average record, not a bad one, but it's so overplayed that it now grates to hear it. The original UK copy didn't mean it got played that much, but since it's subsequent re-issue on Stardust and as part of the recent spate of Tamla Motown singles, it appears that every "DJ" has one and seems to insist on playing it... Fortunately, it's not a Nighter spin these days (not the ones I attend anyway), so at least I only get to hear it out about twice a month at local Soul Nights. WOOF!

Real World £20 - £25 eBay - Who knows? WOOF!
  23. I'd consider it cheap at $300 as 53 copies of a record is still rare..... But it is soooo played out, it's only saving grace was the limited number of U.S. originals. Surely this means it is now only for the die-hard Motown collector? WOOF!
  24. Thanks, But its the King 45 that I'm after. I'll have to make do with the album until one comes along. WOOF!
  25. Two Step is something completely different.... Very slow, walking pace records.... mainly 1980s thing...... Rubbish! WOOF!
