If you had been at Prestatyn, and poked your head in the R&B room, you would have noticed that the average age in there was 15 years younger than the main room and probably ten years younger than the Modern room. If younger people are going to come onto the Northern Soul scene, it will ultimately be via the Mod scene, which is closely linked to R&B. The biggest thing putting youngsters off isn't anything to do with the music, its fat old men with taches wearing vests and clown pants. To be popular with younger crowds it's got to have a fashion attached to it.... unfortunately the Northen Soul scene has become a sartorial laughing stock. WOOF!

Might have to go on SoccerScum.Com and start an argument saying the records Soul Sam plays are sh*te..... WOOF!

I don't agree. Whilst it's commendable that many original Soul artists were used, I still find that her singing is not quite there.... Too many sharp intakes of breath whilst she's singing point out that she is struggling with the material. Playing Devils Advocate here.......Instead of going out and buying her average commercial CD, why not try picking up CDs by the original artists? And when she sings live she cant carry a note in a bucket... (ala the awful Brits Duet with that other Chancer Robbie Williams) WOOF!

I have a late 50s/early 60s Varetta Dillard 45 that has her mug on it.... Think its on the 'groove' label. WOOF!

Approx 1500 records in the sales boxes this weekend...... Sorted into styles and then sorted into order of price. Cant see the point in looking at £100+ rarities when you've only got twenty quid in your pocket. Best thing to do is ask dealers if theyve got the record you are looking for, or give them a wants list.... Worked for KarenC at Sheridans just over a week ago. WOOF!
