Of course they are... Heres a list of second issues that are more famous than the original label -have a go at naming the original label for a laugh. Tommy Raye - You Don't Love Me - Pen C.L.Blast - Double Up - Stax Ronnie Love - Chills And Fever - Dot Bobby Joy - Sweet Devil You - TRC Al Williams - I Am Nothing - La Beat Johnny Jone & The King Casuals - Soul Poppin - Brunswick WOOF!

It's real... The Head label is an early 70s re-issue label that put out things on the Jewel and Ronn labels mainly. The Jesse Gresham 45 was issued as "The Penguin" but without the drum intro. Pay up! WOOF!
  6. She's just limped off to bed now...... WOOF!
  7. No dodgiest lyrics ever are in a track called 'Butcher Pete' by Roy Brown. He has a large chopper, and he sees to all the girls with it...eventually he ends up in prison and sorts out his cell mate with it. Early 50s track and its obscene. Jailhouse Rock is about shagging in the nick as well.......I wonder if Elvis knew when he recorded it... WOOF!
  8. It's sexual bragging in this sense......... bit like saying he's gonna knock her hip out of joint.... Also brags about his "Jelly Roll" (nob) WOOF!

Got one of these.... Not checked to see if it plays ok yet, but it should do as it looks ok. £3 if you want it (with postage) WOOF!

  15. Should be able to pick a copy of the LP up for around £20. I bought mine about 10 years ago for £8 and havent regretted it for a minute. WOOF!
  16. Fantastic. No matter how a thread starts out it always ends up in either an oldie v's newies debate or sexual innuendo. I love it! WOOF!

Not come across the book yet.... as soon as I find it I'll pass on the info. WOOF!
  18. Great, What was the record by Bobby Byrd? WOOF!

Never fails to amaze me how many people slag off R&B, stating it's R&R then place tracks up in their favourites lists, or jump up to dance to it. When is an R&B record not an R&R record? When it's a Northern record of course! WOOF!
  20. Whoo-hoo.... I believe we've got a live one! WOOF!
  21. Never booted? Original is green and white label, although some argue that there is a rarer first issue on a red label. Never seen either a red label or a boot myself (who would have bothered booting a record that was easy to come by at the time?). WOOF!

www.modculture.com Depends on the records really, if their Revival records them you might be better off on one of the Revival sites. WOOF!
  23. Too played out around these parts..... DJs tend to go for her track from the Cleopatra Jones LP "Love Doctor", available on the flip of "Hurts So Good". WOOF!
