I've seen dozens of Alteen issues, but the majority of them are clattered, with writing all over the label. I think it was a good seller in Chicago - Boba should be able to confirm this.

Are all demos Chess and all issues Alteen? Can't say i can remember seeing a Chess Issue or Alteen Demo.

I've got several unissued acetates that I've had cut to preserve the originals. That's one good reason.

Security is a subsidiary of Holton - the label that I'm Standing came out on, so it's possible that it's kosher. Would need to check the runout for a stamp (the RCA SK4M or similar). Horrible record. IMO.

The mountboard is a fooker to cut, even with the right tools, so I'd go for pre-cut if you can get it.

Jamie, I'd make a back board out of hardboard covered in Felt, you should be able to pick it up at any haberdashery. The records and memorabilia will 'pop' against the background, and it also gives you something a bit easier to mount them on, You can get decent box frames from Ikea in allsorts of sizes these days, that already have pre-cut mounts in.

If not eBay, then try John Lewis, they used to be able to order them in for you...

Any of the first 100 Tamla Motown releases that aren't either Greatest Hits or Big Hits type compilations are worth picking up if cheap. Stand -out ones are Artistry Of Brenda Holloway, Marvelous Marvelletes, Soul Sounds Chris Clark, Earl Van Dyke, Choker Cambpell, Meet The Temptations, etc

£50-ish on the Joe Simon. I've been offered £350 for Ricky Allen, but turned it down as I'm not bothered about selling it.

Ricky Allen - Tamboo is the later, funkier cut, the AGE version is a different, but also good version (in an earlier r&B style). Joe Simon came out on Dot as well if my memory serves me, same cut I think.
