  1. Pop a list up - I've got some I may be willing to part with...
  2. Just to clear up... I've had both but not at the same time, so wasn't able to play them side by side - but to my ears there was no difference between the recordings.
  3. Kak. Could have bought one years ago when Spin city records was in Sheffield Market for about four quid.... i would still feel ripped off now if i had.
  4. If you have to ask, your not part of it.....
  5. I think you've missed an entry of there chaps.... Congratulations James, fame at last.
  6. Several reasons why you won't get a mass influx of young people onto the Northern Scene... In the 1970s, at it's peak - the music was only around ten years old at most - and much of it was newish - now its over thirty years old and alien to young ears. Youth culture still had tribes - from the mods, through skinheads, suedeheads etc. - Now you've got Chavs, Goths and 'Gatecrasher' ravers - where exactly do they fit in? There were no Playstations, X-boxes, PCs, Wide Screen Plasma TVS, movies on demand, Sky Sports and online gaming - it's all to easy to sit at home and be entertained. Pubs used shut at ten thirty - and you had to dress up to get in a nightclub (jacket and tie)... now you can drink for the best part of 24hours without anyone batting an eye. Allnighters had a bit of mistique and an element of naughtiness to them - now you can go and get off your box and listen to pumping tunes in every town and city across the land. Basically, the youth of today don't need Northern Soul to get their kicks like they did in the 1970s, and anyone thinking otherwise is sadly deluded.
  7. People come to the first one just to see you fail. Others come to check the venue out. After that, i'll bet my bottom dollar that attendances spiral downwards at a rate of knotts.
  8. I'd set fire to his hair.
  9. Tried and failed at the Rocket.... Whilst a lot of it was down to Ian Levines personality, a large part of the reason was you can't fill a barn in London.
  10. Aharr, Oi can recommend a Ships Chandler that can rattle up a wicked pair' o pantaloons fer yer... 25% off fer peg legs.... Yer may end look a bit up lookin' a bit o' a clown, but oi thinks there be no difference from any land lubber in baggy pants. Yarr
  11. Yep, believe it is....
  12. Worth having - mid~uptempo 70s duet.. starts a with them taking a line at a time each, then start singing together... nice enough.
  13. "It will never be the same again"
  14. Is Butch playing it? that usually explains any daft price hikes.
  15. Just remembered - it's a Burgundy demo copy that I've got as well - so that doesn't answer the question as to whether it was issued in the U.S. or not.
  16. Here's the Aussie one - well that's where it came from anyway...
  17. It got issued in Australia. Got a U.S. copy somewhere but i'm not sure whether its a demo or issue... or it may even be Canadian.
  18. "95% of everything is shit" Theodore Sturgeon.
  19. Artists name should be horizontal, obviously. Unless of course....... arrrgh! Where's me blanket?
  20. Surely that would be a cream cheese sideboard to LSD?
  21. I'm on a downwards slope to OCD. Just gonna go and check to see if all of my records labels are pointing to twelve.
  22. I think it's a later 60s release to cash in on his minor success on Modern records. I've got the 45, and another release of Money on the original Canadian label Star Shot. Something about the quality of the blue vinyl sings out a later release.
  23. "VEE HAVE VAYS OF MAKING YOU DANCE!"
  24. Thigh-slapping, goose-stepping, wurst-scoffing Northern Soul!
  25. He's trying to breed a race of SuperDJs. Dangerously close to Northern Soul Nazism.
