Ian Levine, Motorcity, Centre City, Blackpool Mecca, And Swons
pikeys dog replied to a topic in All About the SOUL
In all seriousness, I find your likening of anyone who disagrees with you as reminiscent of the Hitler Youth, Fascists and Nazis, extremlely distasteful. I'm suprised that someone of your personal background stoops so low as to compare what are in the scheme of things, minor barbs against your personality, with the most heinous of crimes commited against people because of their religion, ethnic grouping, disability or sexuality. You really are a very offensive man. -

Sorry Ian, but I am 100% Hetero. I find your jibes about me wanting to fornicate with you quite distressing - I'm sure I have higher standards than that - I was saying so only the other day whilst I was porking the local farmers Sow. -

I've made two comments directly about this film - one stating that the director had come across as a bit of a prick, and another that I knew the person in charge of wardrobe, and that he was more clued up than any other wardrobe 'master' would be. Hardly dragging the film or it's premise down? I have no problem with the film whatsoever, whether it's purely about the music, a love story or whatever - because it means nothing to me - people basking in past glories and all that nonsense. Just because I think your over-inflated ego needs to be popped every once in a while, it does'nt mean i witsh the film ill. Get your facts right you sanctimonious twat. To paraphrase yourself during one of your many tedious hissy fits - FOAD.

no, Unfortunately Mr Latrine does like to spout off like this on a fairly regular basis. Que Mr Lalor for his tiresome bigging up of Mr Latrine "Fell in a bucket of shite - came up smelling of roses" contribution to the 'Northern Soul' scene.... yawn.

What a suprise.

pikeys dog replied to Little-stevie's topic in Record Sales
Used to feature in Anglo Americans Soul packs in the early 90s... That's were i got my copies from. -
I've known about it being on Raines for about 5 years - I got a U.S. seller to play it down the phone to me, and vetoe'd it on the strength of what i heard. It's also listed on the Raines label in Manships.

It's .......... on Rampart
-
Yep - as far as I'm aware, the song has the same lyrics, but a different backing tune... He was a Chess records guitarist and recorded as Jody Williams as well.
-
Don't get what you mean about it 'being' mine? I have only ever had two copies, a yellow label one which i sold for *£300* and a rarer multicoloured label copy which i still have...
-
Not at all, just that some people prefer to purchase off someone who's in front of them... Whatever you decide to pay for one, good luck in your hunt.
-
No need to get arsey - it wasn't just a figure pulled out of my head - I sold the record for that and hed several people messaging me to see if it was still available. I know Mace sold a copy for about £300 in the last twelve months as well. A copy may well have sold for less than £200 on eBay - my first copy came of there for $9 - but that doesn't guarantee that the record would arrive, or that it would be mint when it did, or that you wouldn't get stung for import duties... The person who bought mine got to hold it in their mitts prior to purchase - maybe that's why they offered a premium price? If you don't want to know the price, why ask?
-
i've got an Argentinian or Brazilian copy and it's called "Hoy!"
