  1. bugger me, I've just passed by a couple of those up in t'loft...
  2. Tosh, your names spot on. can I suggest you add the word 'utter' to sum up your above posting.
  3. Re the 'King' acetate that Pat Brady had: are their many King acetates / test pressings of any King release? I know King were a true independant, in the fact that they had their own pressing facilities, so did they bother with more than the odd TP/Acetate prior to pressing 45s up? Demos of King singles by James Brown seem to be pretty thin on the ground as well - did they just press issues as they expected him to have hits?
  4. Four Tops had been recording since the late 50s so I cna't see how he could be classed as 'young' at this point
  5. Good Luck. You'll need it.
  6. Is it really rare enough to warrant an auction spot? I've had one for years (paid about a fiver for it), and have had a slack handfull of copies of it as "The Lovers" on Philips. surely not that expensive a tune?
  7. To be honest Brett, i very rarely pick up UK copies of 45s these days for my own collection (Action/Stax/Soul City/Deep Soul/Black Atlantic/Chees excepted), and if I did manage to pick a US copy up afterward I would let the UK one go, so no it doesn't bother me one jot. UK collectors are a breed apart... why anyone would pay daft wedge for a UK demo of a US chart smash just because it's got a big green or red A on it is beyond my ken.
  8. silver polish?
  9. Rubbing liniment Brett?
  10. Alexander Jackson & The Turnkeys on UK Sue... actually Lala Wilson "Fleapot"
  11. apparently Guy Stevens was a bit fast and loose when it came to some of the Sue releases.
  12. That's actually a very creditable version...
  13. i've had one in the past that was almost fully popped like that - the crack followed the final portion of the trail out groove, so presumably it happened during manufacture.
  14. It's when the label design was registered. Cameo Parkway labels carry a similar date if my memory serves me well.
  15. What More
  16. Best offer so far: Zip, Zilch, Nix, Nada, Nowt, Nothing, Feck All.
  17. Arock records (and Sylvia) are well known for the glue on the labels failing and them falling off. Sounds 100% Kosher to me.
  18. It's muck. IMHO of course.

  23. Percentage wise gotta be Bunny/Big Bunny?
  24. don't think it was released on UK / US but have a nagging feeling it came out on an Aussie 45( or demo'ed at least)
  25. It's also one of the most base. 99% of people gloat without meaning to - they can't help it, it's Human Nature. They can however help rattling off a 200 word essay on how they believed they were right and popping up on here for all to see.
