    Recently I've answered several peoples wants with zero response to my PMs - not bothered if its to say yes thanks, no thanks or kissmyarse - it's just polite to acknowledge receipt of the message. Therefore I've now decided to respond to any want directly on the thread. I'll list price, condition and bang up a scan if I can be bothered. This way it opens the "want" up to other potential buyers, and the person posting the "want" might be less inclined to fanny around. Breath in, breath out. and relax.......

    Not that far out with price I.M.O. Davie, its rare on British. US isn't easy to pick up unless you want a clunker - these records were loved to death.

    I can do better than that... i'll quote you the prices i've sold original copies for: USA Duke 1st issue £35 Canadian Duke £30 Best Of Bobby Bland Vol 2 - Duke 86 (orange label) £25. Last of the above is probably cheapest method of getting a U.S. copy, but it can be got cheaper on a UK Kent LP.

    I'd add a proper chorus and a decent instrumental break to "She'll come Running Back", that would make it a semi-decent track instead of the meandering mess that it really is.

    They were the 'original' boots, exactly the same as the worn copies i had seen... he'd probably located the rest of the pressing run... remember, it is only economical to press records in runs of 300-500 minumum. I would imagine that Marcs metal acetate is what they used when mastering the boots. It's not unusual to still pick up metal acetates - I have a motown one with Gladys Knight Its Too Late on one side and a temptations LP only track on the other (it came as part of a large batch of Motown related acetates I bought from a texas auction house.)

    The Mosquitos is a Pittsburgh boot. There was a Belgian dealer at Allentown knocking them out at $20 each (a tenner at the time) and he had a raft of the buggers - at least 50 at a guess.

    Not casting doubt on the fact its a French Original, just whether the licensing was 100% at the time. £50 for a nice clean French picture sleeve of a classic Northern Soul 45 sounds pretty good, in fact if I didn't have an Action copy already, i would have probably bought it myself...

    Interesting to note that it says licensed from Action Records London on the label. Did Action have the rights to sub-licence tracks out, or was this really a boot?

    I still reckon its a 'Mowest' production. Motown was slowly decamping to LA from just after the Detroit riots, so 68 onwards... Chris Clark was sent out west to get involved in Film and TV tie ins. There were no 45s issued on the label - just the CC lp - I'm guessing that it was recorded and released to complete her recording contract with the company so she could take up the reins in her new job.
