  1. Wot about these two that are the opposite, and are records that are pretty tame: 100 Pounds of Clay - Gene McDaniels (released in 1961 and banned by BBC radio cos they said it insinuated women were made out of 'building materials.' Rhapsody in the Rain - Lou Christie (the lyrics go, I think "Baby the raindrops play for me a lovely rhapsody cos on our first date we were making out in the rain, and in this car our love went too much too far, then a flash from above lightning lightning, just like our love it was exciting, exciting) or summat like that. Quite tame compared to today I think. Suz x
  2. What about Big Boy Arthur Crudup "She's Got No Hair". It goes somewhere along the lines of "Hey look at her she got no hair, hey look at her she got no hair". I cannot find the lyrics, but there's a bit in the song where it says "her wig fell off and she had no hair at all." Suz x
  3. No probs. I like em myself that's why I put them on refosoul. My sister has taught me how to burn the sounds on to MP3 files so full steam ahead. I have a few other of my own choice of doublesiders that will post up later. Suz x
  4. Its not "Welcome to My World" is it Suz x

  8. Baz that is so bloody true about a dozen turning up have had it happen with one or two recs I've bought. Mind there's nowt worse than paying through the teeth for summat only to see a copy come up for a fraction of the price Not had it happen to me yet like, but prob will sooner or later. Suz x
  9. No probs, but there are no more of ya doublesiders on refosoul I have a few of the 45s mentioned myself, but will have to wait till my sister is home at the end of this week cos I ain't really technical meself Well I can record em from vinyl to tape, but its burning it on to the PC that is the difficult part as you can blow the soundcard if the file is too loud apparently. Suz x

  19. Well I for one love "Lois" by Little Stevie Wonder. I also love "Stay Gold" the theme from the 80s film "The Outsiders". I also like "Harmonica Man" by Stevie Wonder and "Contract on Love" (quite like Martha and the Vandellas version of "Contract on Love" too). Suz x
  20. As a buyer never really had a problem with receiving records apart from one German seller took him 5/6 weeks to send me the record (not a well known seller told me he wasn't a professional seller and that is why he hadn't despatched me record - felt like telling him I'm not a professional buyer but I paid you straightaway). I tend to expect when records are despatched from the US that they are going to take ages to arrive anyway normally, most of the time I think it is them being retained by customs (I have had 4 or 5 recs arrive at the same time). Suz x

  23. One of my fave Curtis Mayfield tracks is "Keep on Keeping On". I also offer up the well known, "Friendship Train" Gladys Knight & The Pips. Suz x
