  2. ....And to think I eventually sold mine for £35 8 years ago, great record, does anyone know who did the Motown version?
  3. I've got it Lydia Pense & the New Invaders-"I'll Forgive You Then Forget You" Invader 403, can't do sound files-sorry, the backing is very good though
  4. It's on Duke records, fairly common, but, overpriced should be able to pick it up for less than £100.
  5. Those "Crowns" are from Chicago on Vee-Jay, nice tune.

  21. Sorry to hi-jack your post, but... I've noticed I've got the 3 posts and trying to get 'm all, ha-ha-ha, are there any 60's examples of this kind?, maybe some of those oddball Spanish EP's? Sorry Robin as you were.
  22. on Do De Re, with "Gino Is A Puppet" on the other side which came out on at least 4 labels including Ric-Tic and Son-Bert (though not with the inst.), played a lot upstairs at Stafford by George Sharp, if I'm not mistaken? boring as instrumentals go, even if you're off your head!
  23. I am saddened to hear this news, one of the true unsung heros of the soul scene, a phrase often over-used; not in this case. I would say that it was probably "Peace Loving Man" that first made me aware of the vast gulf between the polished sound of Motown Detroit and the less sucessful but, none the less musically distinguished sound of the second string players of the motortown, from "Welfare Cheese" on I don't think I ever found a record of his I was disapointed with. A couple of years back when the Detroit Historical Society had tracked him down and got him involved, I had hoped I would finally get to see him perform, sadly this is not to be the case.
