  11. Stateside changed it's numbering system to the 2000 series in 1966 to avoid further clashing with Tamla.
  12. I assumed "T"amla "M"otown "G"ordy?
  13. There was an article in one of the mags, SKM, Shades? can't remember which, Barrie Waddington had some info he'd got from a couple of thr band memebers years back. I'll drop him a line.
  14. This has been discussed before here or maybe on SoulTalk, members of the Tempests on backing a Carolinas recording along with I Can't Hide It".

  16. No mate, it went like this, Pat gave it quite a big introduction (as Maurice McAllister), then the record starts, I turn to my friend Matthew Simpson and say "you've got this haven't you" (Keb had played it a little, the year before, where we knew it from), he trots of to tell Pat him he knows it, to be told no it's different version, Butch was now on the stage with the record from his sales box, at which point Pat takes it off saying Thanks to Butch for pissing me off that's 100 quid down the drain.
  17. Wilmington, Delaware owned by James Chavis, or at least a connection to his labels, the Mello Souls had a release on Chavis/Candi as Joan says it's on here somewhere, Chalky will know.
  18. Famously played once (actually just 1/2 the record!) at Stafford by Pat Brady c/u as Maurice McAllister.
  19. 2267 M Barnett 530 Imaginations 266 Bros Gilmore 259
  20. I think that refers to the inception of the label rather than the release of this particular number. Just as Mar-V-lus has 1963 on it's label for most of the releases.
  21. Quite agree Mark, fabulous midtempo currently played by Ady
