I think it would sound pretty good played out at a hipshakers kinda do Ive heard a lost worse played out and about but Its a pity he cant pronounce Girl it sounds like Curl could be he off" Only Fools and Horses"
The Record seems to quite rare and little known but has it never sold for more than £30 to £60 but could rocket in price if it stared getting played
There's a Derek Lee Australian singer form around this period could it be him?
There's a EMI publicity photo of him in The Age Of Innocence book,

Awful record!, Around 1984 or '85 I bought it off JM on his recommendation, in 30+ years of dealing with him only the second time I've sent a record back.
-
Should be pink, never seen a grey one, and the anniversary 45's dont have a second release, have you got a picture?

I don't think so just tape and vinyl versions of Love, Friends. Tears is the same tape but longer
Ah okay, must be getting confused, I thought the with and without strings versions both came out, like the remixed Priscilla Page "I'm Pretending"

Alternate version of James Lately - Love ,Friends and Money on one of the Dave Hamilton CD's
Didnt both versions come out on Temple?, doesn't help it being rare as hens teeth!

Soul Brothers Six "I'll Be Loving You" sounds completely different on the "Getting' To Me" CD
(Not alternate, I know, but if you played it back to back with the 45, you'd swear they were different)
-
So are we saying ALL copies of 169 have the "kiss" lyric or just some??
-
Just had a listen on Youtube, I know why I got shot of it, and kept the one with *Earthquake"
-
Don't remember "Play Something Slow" being up to much, I'll have dig out my copy for a listen....
-
It came out twice with different flips....

Sorry to be pedantic but Connie Van Dyke is not Connie Clark, that is Chris Clark!

There is a history of bootlegging or should I say counterfeiting in the States of newly released material including Motown top sellers sold as original new stock. Quite a few book mention it.
Indeed Raynoma Gordy had "My Guy" pressed when it was a hit

That's mine, not sure why anyone in the States would bootleg an easily available record, but stranger things have happened
Sometimes, if a record looked like hitting in other territories, I guess there would be a rush to get product out to market, hence different plants used, and label variations down to blanks running out etc.

As late as 1990 you could still buy this off the stall in Berwick Street for £1.50, I must've bought dozens, god knows how many Tony Rounce, Ady C, had and traded over the years they were working there?

Think 5th Dimension "Up,Up and Away" or, anything by The Association for a typical sunshine pop sound.

I'm probably totally on my own here but i've always really liked BJ Thomas 'Don't Have A Mind Of My Own'. I'd rather have that than 'Keep It Up'...
tin hat time!
Great record but I wouldn't call it "sunshine pop"
Jades - Hotter Than Fire - Cherry Red

Guy H had a studio disc, that mightve been a different mix, I'll ask him before he goes abroad
