  1. Strangely enough I played this out at the weekend, also off a demo, spooky?! Eddie & Ernie that is! I see Pete Smith has a west Cost demo for quite reasonably priced at the moment.
  2. This was discussed before, Rod will confirm the label is the same as the others, i.e not mocked-up or poorly produced, I believe that idea comes from when Paul Johnson knocked out some acetates of this and the Combinations in the 80's and didn't have a scan of the label and mocked one up. Still only one known (UK) copy isn't it? Has Boba seen it stateside?
  3. I'd known of the Hen-Mar release for years too, never put it together as Four Perfection c/u!
  4. Also re-titled and performed in the UK by The Marionettes on Parlophone as "Like A Man"
  5. Great beat ballad, value about £25-30?
  6. Yes it is unreleased, available on Kent compilation.
  7. See there is one on the bay at the moment. Glad I got mine when I did about 20 years ago.
  8. Also Teri Thornton "Molly Marlene", Gary Ferguson "Work Gary Work" any more??
  9. Issue or Demo nice and clean please. T
  10. Maybe Rich, but, "well known dealers" routinely achive much higher prices than people on here (or elsewhere) ever manage.
  11. Are we saying light blue like the last Martha Star release? It makes no sense and there is no precident for it. Explain please, does this person claim to have one?
  12. £250-£300 would seem a fair price still, I can't imagine why someone would want to pay 600 for it, I doubt it very much, there's always one nutter I suppose.
  13. The Chico Holiday is styrene, I've got one of the Linda Rae's which is vinyl (I Don't See My Baby?) it isn't very good anyway, It claims to be the sound of Detroit or somesuch on the label!
  14. The acetate is way louder than the EP version.
  15. I didn't realise the Don't Know About You came out on demo, thought that was Easy To Be Hard on both sides? and I'm with Dave on the date.
  16. I'm sure one of the goldmine CDs had the "I Miss My Baby" Inst on it, it sounds different to Bari Track, just as the mix of Doni Burdick IHFIY is differnent to Edwin Starr. Question, is Bari Track & Doni Burdick' Sound Impression use of the backing tacks legal? as none of the appropriate credits seem to be there?
  17. I used to give copies of this away I had 2 x 25 boxes(Late 80's) and no one wanted GW then, never looked for any differences on credits!
  18. Toby Lark-Lots Of Heart-USD Patrice Holloway-Love & Desire-Capitol w/d Mel Wynn-Don't Wanna Lose You-Wand Spellbinders-Help Me-CBS UK Issue Eddie Holman-Hold Me In Your Arms-Grapevine acetate and Smokey on Standard Groove all for less than a good night out!
  19. And back to the original question, most of the copies that have been of Ebay over the last year have been in rather poor shape with varying degrees of tatty labels, and doesn't indicate a "find". It is still one of the finest double siders from the motor city, say no more.
  20. I don't think the matrix number necessarily refers to A or B side, just a reference to the stamper, as shown by Rod, there is a large gap between one side of Jackey Beavers and the other, and there are plenty of instances where sides are re-issued with different b-sides (retaining the original matrix and not assigned a new one). The plug sides could easily be chosen by radio DJ's and I'd bet more often than not were, regardless of having a plug on them. Just a thought.
  21. I always had a great time D.J'ing and attending thru the 90's and will try to get up soon!
  22. Isn't that International?
  23. Hats off to you Roger I'd rather have curry sauce tho' or just salt & vinegar and an onion!
  24. Guy Hennigan playing the Back Street inst at Stafford and just being on the rise as the "Baa-Baaahs" kicked in!! magic!!!
