  1. While Gwen was definitely from Detroit, Lillie however was not and neither was the Tayster label< Liile was from New Jersey and Tayster and sister label Rojac were based in Harlem.
  2. Yes, the C*unt is wellworth avoiding, I made him a (what I thought) reasonable offer on a record and got an invective filled reply in return, virtually labelling myself and my fellow countrymen as out and out thieves!
  3. Same here mate, keep your chin up etc. and look forward to catching up when you're able to! T & Jet
  4. John Manship sold one a couple of years back!
  5. There was one on Soul Bowl late 80's around 100 or 125, Rob Marriott beat me to it, then I missed it when he sold up :-( This copy sounded pretty beat up, which again don't seem to bother people much!
  6. Hi Rob, Thanks for clearing that up, not sure where I got Zebra from, sometimes a bit of mis-information get lodged in! Also was Raldo (Dawnbreakers-She'll Meet Her Match) affiliated to Hi-Lite?
  7. Snap, Pete!
  8. John Andrews on Parlophone, "It's Just Love"
  9. I see there's an Italian one on Ebay in pic sleeve, what's that gonna go for?
  10. Wasn't it owned by Dorothy Pierce?, Pillar, Zebra sister labels possibly Hi-Lite too?
  11. Andy Rix's copy is the one John refers to as being in 3 pieces, It was sent to him in just an envelope (at that time it was the only known copy).
  12. The same seller was knocking out "remastered" Freddie Scott "Mr Heartaches" and a few others too, avoid, avoid!!
  13. Well the old grey matter does let me down from time to time!
  14. How do you see what's there?
  15. Los Chansonettes, cracked in 2, glued onto a Sonday 45 (Constellations? you could hear the tic as it played :thumbsup:He got it from Keb

  18. It is the same as the top-side without the vocals
  19. I Don't think Karmello Brooks was going for more £10 at the time, got one of Pete Lawson for £8 at Stafford. I'm sure Stafford was still going when Andy sold up, I was on a meagre apprentice's wages of £75 a week, so could only afford £35 for Martha Star Love Is The Only Solution & Billy Kennedy w/d on Thelma, though I'm sure I bought some other stuff.
  20. I thought the price was a bit high, given the condition of the label and vinyl?
  21. What does the Strata issue go for now?
  22. Yes c/u as Tommy Navarro
  23. Absolutely! What a great haul Ady C had out of the remnants of Carlin Music Publishers Archive......Ben E. King "Gettin' To Me" for one.
