  1. I stand corrected Pete, didn't realise there was such a buzz on this again?
  2. Hard on issue, would've thought even then 250 tops?
  3. Demo on ebay at $649 surely thats well over the top???
  4. More than a few about, still hard though.
  5. And is a far better record than Tommy Dent and United Sounds put together!!
  6. United Sounds is by far the better record, though it isn't my cup of tea, Tommy Dent is just awful to my ears if there were as many copies of that as Skanky get Funky would you be wetting yourselves, give me the Vonettes any day at least that is a record that knows where it's going!
  7. I don't really like either, where does that leave me?
  8. The demo exists only on the earlier "jumbled" letters design.
  9. Thanks Benji, I don't make this stuff up! Mine had tippex on, but I picked it off, does that devalue it I wonder?
  10. Didn't it have the wrong anniversary number on it, which was tippexed over?
  11. Yes come on Tim, spill the beans :-)
  12. "Let Me Render My Service" has "Ain't Gonna Do You No Harm" on the flip, "This Man In Love" has "Adam & Eve" on the flip, though on acetate anything is possible!
  13. A giant of Detroit soul has passed! R.I.P. Don Davis
  14. I am totally shocked by this news, I never got to meet Bob but chatted a lot and swapped files with him, and he was a mine of information, and more to my surprise was several years younger than me and the majority on here, but with the distance from the politics of the UK scene seemed somewhat more sensible and mature in his outlook, Also his sleuthing of artists long thought forgotten and lost will be a legacy many of us could only hope to leave behind. This really is a sad loss to our community, and my condolences go out to his family and hope that the high esteem he held among people he'd never met provides some comfort to his family and close ones. R.I.P. Boba
  15. Thought it was a very fair price for a genuinely rare record.
  16. The Joe-L 45 was a Valtone recording wasn't it? And somewhere I remember reading the "Him" of Jeen & Hm was Sidney Barnes.
  17. I've got it too, didn't think it was Paul Guitar Johnson? thought it was a group thing?? Not that good either.
  18. Obviously they didn't want to buy a galley camera, but plenty of people have friends who are printers (I am one) who would do a favour for a drink, just saying that the quality of label reproduction in this case is not an indication of legitimacy.
  19. Robb, The label would be easy to copy, even back then, photograph on a gallery camera, reverse the negative and you're there!
  20. Where is the proof RCA were involved with this "re-release", you're talking out of your a**e :-)
  21. I don't know where you get your information from but, the orange copy is a bootleg end-of!
  22. We don't know the record sold for £12, if it didn't meet its reserve it would be unsold.
