The Dobie Gray seemed quite cheap in terms of rarity although I guess it's more of a collection record
See lots of copies of Honey You Can't Take It Back but most of these that come up for sale are the promos with Do You Really Have A Heart on both sides
Yes I thought it finished cheap!

Didn't I sell one to you Al?

Popular at the time of the Swan in Mansfield, another too many copies record ego thing Tony?
Steve
Absolutely Steve, I got 10 copies off Lew Silvani when Pat was playing it, he dropped it almost as soon as he heard!!
-
There are several on that list that cross over slightly into the decade before or after, but Butch was definitely playing it, early noughties & I thought occasionally very late 9ts, i could be mistaken though....
Best Russ
Remember Butch playing c/u, I think he had an acetate?
-
Agreed great record! Used to play this 25+ years ago when it was c/u as Mel Carter "Take Out Some Insurance"!
-
I've got one of those too! Still don't know who it is, pretty crap as well. I have got a pukka w/d of "Good Guy" the run-out is identical from memory, the only way to tell is to play it.

I'd defo played that out before the LP, I've got the acetate somewhere.
Absolutely, I only bought the LP for that track!

Odd, I'd have thought if I comped it before Guy played it I'd have already played it
Indeed!
And also Tommy Hunt's "New Neighbourhood" was a smash off this LP too!
-
Yep I did Kurt and Willie & The Handjives. I can't remember about In My Tenement by Rosie Greer, Guy would recall that one.
Deffo Guy, I remember being surprised because it had been comped on "Big City Soul Sounds" Kent 061!

The inst . to " Like a rolling stone " is on the flip side of " The Gallop " ...
And bizarrely the plug side.

Am I the only person here to believe the Rouser release of Frankie Beverly is some sort of later reissue?
Not sure about that, but the truncated sax solo kind of ruins it!

The day Otis Busch went on, I bought a copy off Anglo-American, mint, labels correct way round for £25 go figure? There was also a Cha-Cha copy on for £40, though when i went back later it had gone.

Thanks Russell, I appreciate Terry has had bad luck with the post, an email from him would've been enough.

I still haven't received anything and had no new responses, I won't be dealing with them again!

The Icemen on Olé 9, blue vinyl must be pretty tough.
All the copies I ever saw were blue, until that little cache of black ones turned up!

As Ted says, if you can get it for less then good luck!

I bought the Fascinators on Bombay thinking it was the Boss Four (bloody cover ups)
Not a bad mistake to make!
