  1. One of Top Tunes, but well outta my reach, $787.00 a new record auction value ? https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/350844048989?ssPageName=STRK:MEWAX:IT&_trksid=
  2. Bidded on that Jackie Trent myself, though I didn;t know that it had any value at all.Just liked the tune.
  3. Sad news indeed. Call on Me remains a favourite club tune from when I first heard it at the Golden Torch in 1969. It became and remains myself and Tina's tune today and always brings a smile to our faces. Listen:
  4. Been searchin the U - Tube for ages for this one. Overlooked by many on the Spellbound - Lost and Found series,I think its a stunning piece, think "Ordinary Joe" style rhythm: MARTHA & THE VANDELLAS talking about love :
  5. Not familiar with "I", is it any good? I am familiar with this version of Jerry Butler's I Dig You Baby, from the first self titled LP, also re-issued on "Patterns". I think its a super little tune:
  6. The Elgins "Life Can Be Beautiful"
  7. The Spinners : this Feeling in My Heart: Difficult to understand why this didn't make it, quality: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=S0hlMuWczq8
  8. Don't agree, in my experience totally the opposite. Sorry.
  9. Received two records from the States today, graded as VG that should have been graded knackered! My experience is that UK sellers are much more up front and conservative in their grading. A lot of amateur ebayers know bugger all about quality and just see $$$$$$ when it comes to Soul. Records graded Good ish, are virtually worthless to sell on so I find many go for the soft option and grade VG or above . After all with postal prices now being what they are, it's easier to take it on the chin, if you bid and your bargain turns out a dud.in. If you've got the dosh, buy from Anglo, Moerer or Manship go for quality if you can. Sorry just my experience, buying on a limited budget. Interesting thread though.
  10. Licensed re-issues are no problem in my book, though many serious collectors abhor them. I reckon anyone selling the legit re-issues is supporting the music industry in a positive way, keep it up!
  11. Only on Soulsource. Made me laugh though! Lost auctions many, many times. Not in these circumstances for low value items. Its a matter of whether you want to invest in the technology. I ain't got the beans. Thanks for sharing a few thoughts on religious ceremonies though.
  12. Just been snipped by 10p on three different items. I hardly see how such practice benefits the seller. Its a beggar reyt!
  13. Definitely not a feel good tune! Some might like to own it from an obscurity/political theme point of view. Interesting post though.
  14. Johnny Taylor; Rome (wasn't built in a day); Sar written and produced by Sam Cooke, 1961. Bill Black's Combo My girl Josephine 1961.
  15. Not as far as I'm aware, was released on the Fab "Lost & Found" CD:
  16. I think that there were 8 . Any more bids anyone ?
  17. I says what I means an I means what I says! piqued too often. Mick
  18. Dear Pikey/whoever Thanks for an unnecessarily blunt response. Don't know why you have to react in this manner. There's been many a post on this subject where the links been left in play, the Tempests being one example. As you might imagine free advertising for boot leggers is my last consideration. Please accept my apologies for a less than great post (no responses except your own). Regards Mick
  19. Kinda defeats the object of exposing them, doesn't it? I take that this guy is known then? If so I've already reported it to E-bay and met with the usual response. Best Mick
  20. Was wondering if this has been booted as is before, or is this a new one ? :
  21. Some copies available at Discogs here: https://www.discogs.com/sell/list?release_id=3625232&ev=rb
  22. It's interesting reading this thread, in that I'm surprised that what I regard as mere banter ,others regard as libellous. However I suppose if you're putting your thoughts in writing in the public domain, you can leave yourself wide open. Meself I can only dream of owning Pyramid, a tune I happen to love, along with many of the above. Having just acquired a copy of The Star-tells "Falling in love" for a tenner , I'll have to make do with that. 'an T will give me jip about that too, if 'n she finds out. Always find this thread a good read - thanks boys.
  23. Can't help but be reminded of Archie Bell "Tighten Up" in the riff. Too-oon though!
  24. 25 quid more like. I think I got £15 for mine on E-bay last year and that was after listing it 3 times. I can also say that it was ex. Surely this is a printing error? Thanks for posting. Mick
