  2. Great to see that it's still possible for such rarities to come to light. Nice one for sharing.

  6. Yep and that's a cracker too. He also did the great intro to; "let's clean up the ghetto".
  7. Having temporarily got my record room back, I put myself a play list of old favourites, together yesterday. This one is from the "At Last" Blue Note album that I bought as an import in 1989, for £8.99 , during my rather foolish indi-soul phase. Nevertheless a great track in my book , from an album that you can probably pick up for less that a fiver these days, well that's inflation for ya. Lou Rawls You can't go home Blue Note - featuring George Benson
  8. Sorry if someone else already posted, but is this it : (it's in stereo too)
  9. £8 standard First Class postage ? https://www.ebay.com/itm/rare-northen-soul-record/282574040779?_trksid=p2141725.c100338.m3726&_trkparms=aid%3D222007%26algo%3DSIC.MBE%26ao%3D1%26asc%3D20150313114020%26meid%3D7df1a69ead0742429258b186ffb34254%26pid%3D100338%26rk%3D10%26rkt%3D20%26sd%3D172779508509#shpCntId
  10. Nice 'n soulfull, lovely!
  11. New to me. I like this Joni Mitchell type sound, nice and unsual choice for this forum. TFS :-)
  12. Monster!!!!!
  13. Nice one Martyn, thanks for posting. Despite her rather fragile vocals, I always loved her "I'm so in Love" DJM LP, which this cracking track is also on. I never realised though, until you posted this that the DJM album was a re-issue or more accurately a re-compilation of Happy & In Love which I now find out was released 4 years earlier on MOJO (Fontana US). Dunno how I missed it at the time, I could have had 4 more years of listening pleasure. "I've Just Gotta Tell Somebody" B/W I'm so in Love" to was released on a label called "Shotgun", as 45 a few years ago. Whether this was a boot or not , I don't know but it looks legit. Anyway for the un-initiated:
  14. Two good sides there. TFS :-)
  15. Another unusual one from Discogs. Dunno if it's a genuine acetate or a mail order type thing, however I'll be amazed if it's worth the asking price. Rusty Draper is a US old school country artist. Bud Harper, Rusty Draper ‎– Mr Soul / Love Don't Grow On Trees Label : The Music Centre, Wembley ‎ Format: Acetate, 7", 45 RPM £4,427.64 - why 64p ?? postage ? see here: https://www.discogs.com/Bud-Harper-Rusty-Draper-Mr-Soul-Love-Dont-Grow-On-Trees/release/9572391
  16. My copies just arrived, nice one.
  17. Is this too disco ? It's very anthemic any road and may have been played at the Mecca, Morecambe or similar. Hudson County - Heaven's Here On Earth- RCA
