  1. Can you type the artist, title, label out please for those that can't see the YouTube clips?
  2. is it? Good if it is - great double-sider that one is too
  3. Northern Soul had its roots in the Mod scene - Twisted Wheel and other iconic clubs. Mod culture would encourage the authentic, rare and elitism ... "the original is still the greatest" In life there is real and fake
  4. Yes, but not Tamangoes, Larry Clinton, Dena Barnes, Edward Hamilton, Precisions, Lester Tipton, Nabay etc
  5. The ebay one went for over 100 quid as expected - despite the crap photo.
  6. 60 quid? Not for a long time
  7. That was the original legit release of a previously unissued track, so it's OK in my book - although I would play something else instead if it were me
  8. I agree Rob - think playing a Grapevine whether acetate or not is "cheating" Saw a playlist somewhere recently for another niter - think it was Kings Hall Stoke - and someone said they had played Dena barnes ... on Grapevine. Tut, tut That will bring out the NOVO brigade - not original vinyl only Richard
  9. So does this mean the issues are legit - only the demo was booted?

  11. You'll be telling me next that their pet dog was Pepe The Poodle Cheers Richard
  12. Just think everyone should 1) adopt winning bid is an increment above the last highest bid approach (i.e. proxy bidding - not blind bidding) and also 2) be open and transparent about the final bid - so we all know the result and can see how we did. Think that would actually encourage more, and higher, bids on some auctions - where perhaps the general lack of confidence isn't there among the punters just now. Thank you and goodnight Richard
  13. Everybody has a go at John Manship's auction - but when you look at the other main auctions - Tim's and Pat's - John's is a million light years ahead in terms of transparency, openness, user-friendliness etc. Cheers Richard
  14. Last try - then I'm giving up Thanks to anyone who can help. Cheers Richard
  15. Always thought Northern Soul and Kung Fu was an awesome combination - and that association goes back to my teens in the 70s. Cheers Richard
  16. Good post Maslar. One of the difficulties on the Northern scene is terminology, where we call counterfeits (copies made to deceive) bootlegs, which they aren't in the more usual sense and application of the word. Cheers Richard
  17. Here it is
  18. Yes Robb - that is the only white demo copy I have seen of that release. But the issue was on the familiar yellow issue. Also, they got his name wrong - KINDRICK rather than KENDRICK - unlike many UK folk who say KendrickS
  19. Well spotted Robb. Yes, got that one too
  20. Plus loads more Dave - like the blue demos, and the totally different label/font styles on things like the Freddie Gorman releases, J J Barnes "Say It", "Real Humdinger" and Detroit Emeralds "Show Time". There is a blue demo and a proper white demo on Ric-Tic 122. The list goes on ... In my book you need issue, demo, sticker demo, juke strip, different label/font styles Richard
  21. Those sleeves are not genuine A bloke printed a load himself - they are home printed and recent-ish. Richard
