I reckon the demo of Clarence Jackson is quite a bit harder than the issue. The standout thing about it of course is that it has "What's So Good To You" on the other side, which is a great 70s track. You don't get that on the orange issue which only has the instrumental of "If It Don't Fit, Don't Force It" on the flip. That makes the demo desirable in its own right. A feature of John's auctions is that he doesn't only feature big ticket items, but frequently includes items just because they are interesting and a bit different. I understood that Boo was a Chicago label - Ric Williams owned - along with Aquarius, Zodiac etc. However, the recordings were almost exclusively Detroit on Boo (and many on Zodiac and some on Aquarius were - such as Ruby Andrews on Zodiac). I recall, without checking, that there is loads of info from Richard Pack's sleeve notes on the Brothers of Soul CD on Collectables - which (if I remember correctly again) said that all the Brothers of Soul recordings on Boo were done in Detroit, apart from "I'de Be Grateful".- that certainly sounds right to my ears

Gemm fuck*d people around and owed a lot of it's users money - paying them late, not paying them, not dealing with refunds/disputes. I had some experience of this myself, small scale thankfully - and they were awful to deal with and still have my money. Well, why wouldn't you do that - if it was a bootleg - to try and give it legitimacy or fend off the criticism you mentioned in your opening post? Plus, people don't know who "Stompingsevens" or "Jesse" is, as many won't, then you admitting it on here wouldn't matter at all.

Based on what you have said Jesse, I think most people would conclude, as they seem to be doing, that it's a bootleg. If it's not a bootleg, I think you need to put up some kind of evidence to support your claim that it is a legally licensed.reproduction.

Great - thank you- could you please post some of the most relevant the details of the licence - e.g. the parties involved and main terms? How much money does the other party get? Could you explain why would you copy such a superb and pretty rare record? Happy to put my tin hat on now ...
