  1. I'm reviving this one as someone must know more All info much appreciated Thanks Richard
  2. Hi Jim Just that from a collecting point of view the red labelled release on vinyl is much rarer than the orange labelled styrene release. Also, it is vinyl rather than styrene, which many people prefer (although I love mint styrene). On the spelling, the orange label spells it GREATFUL whereas the red labelled version has the title with GRATEFUL. Cheers Richard
  3. I like the flip too
  4. Much, much rarer - and so ... much, much better Correct spelling too. Richard
  5. Just wondering whether this James Fountain on Peachtree was a true original or not - was watching it and both bids came in quite late. I know there's a boot without the correct matrix details. If it's an original did someone get this cheap? Cheers Richard https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/390628281659?ssPageName=STRK:MEWAX:IT&_trksid=p3984.m1423.l2649
  6. Cheers Steve - much appreciated Richard
  7. Hi everyone Valerie & Nick had several excellent releases on Glover records. Although "I'll Find You" was the same song as by the Bee-Jays on the Detroit-based Prime label, am I right in thinking that the Glover label and Valerie & Nick's other recordings on Glover were New York recordings and not Detroit-related in any way? Cheers Richard
  8. On NOW folks until 9pm Listen online here: https://www.tulip-radio.co.uk/ Cheers Richard
  9. Aah, well it went for £870 in the end Cheers Richard
  10. You may well be right guys. Nevertheless, this a hellishly rare record in my book Cheers Richard
  11. Just wondering what this beauty will go for. It seems so rare on Giant and it's a great condition copy. Took me years to find a minter of this myself. Just never seems to turn up on this label. Or maybe someone will get a bargain Cheers Richard https://www.raresoulman.co.uk/auction/8176/just-cant-leave-you-cw-watch-yourself Tony Hestor Just Can't Leave You C/w Watch Yourself Label Giant Condition MINT Live Conclusion @ 24.07.2013 18:00 (UK time) (see help for details) Current Time 24.07.2013 12:42 (UK time) Time Remaining 5 hours 17 minutes Starting Bid £ 1.00 Bid Increment £ 14.00 Minimum Bid £ 328.00 Current Bid £ 314.00 (harrier) If you would like to place a bid, or see the bid history for this auction please register. Login Listen to Just Can't Leave You C/w Watch Yourself Comments Those of you serious about Detroit Northern Soul, please take note this record is perfect UNPLAYED! Labels are “as new” also.. Tony Hestor on Giant has sat around here for many years I couldn’t bring myself to sell it after finding it at a record fair in Lansing, Michigan. Thinking what are the chances of anyone finding a perfect copy of this supreme example of Detroit Northern Soul. Chances are nil of course, reluctantly I’m selling it as I can’t bring myself to play it - sound file has been lifted from a “Karate” copy we have n stock. Real-rarity and perfection will of course come at a price! So listen to a few musical geniuses at work;both sides written and sung by Tony himself, arranged by Sax-God Mike Terry, produced by the unsurpassed PIED PIPER production team.
  12. Have you got one - and how much did you pay? If you haven't got one I don't think you will get one for 75 quid mate - not unless there are another couple of boxes in reserve that will bring the price down significantly. Cheers Richard
  13. So in the end it sold for £24.00 https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/RARE-NORTHERN-THE-TOMANGOES-I-REALLY-LOVE-YOU-YOUVE-BEEN-GONE-SO-LONG-US-WASHPAN-/141016364933?pt=UK_Records&hash=item20d53af785&nma=true&si=4GVHbO5ZjqrOo9LZS6G4%252FRiwH%252F8%253D&orig_cvip=true&rt=nc&_trksid=p2047675.l2557 Cheers Richard
  14. Spot on regarding number of discs and sleeves. Before deciding on the box I measured it all up and could see it would not take anything like 100 with my sleeves. I use those antique green paper sleeves inside white card ones. Cheers Richard
  15. Well I finally asked Swan Flight to do me a custom 50 count box. They said this would not work due to the design they use and the fact that the 100 count box is already pretty compact. I was persuaded to go with the 100 count box and I asked for a load of precision cut sections of foam inside so I could pack the box out if carrying a few records. These are very neatly cut and fit perfectly in layers to fill about half the length of the box, so I can add and deleter them as I need to - and they were checked in for free. I spoke to Peter Gosney there and the advice he gave me and the service was spot on. If you ignore the stacking ball corners and just look at the external dimensions of the box these are even smaller than the advert suggests - actually about L = 25.5cm, W = 21.5m and H = 21.5cm - so ideal for what I was looking for. Delivery was smooth and fast. I am also very happy indeed with the box - it is top class Thanks for all the recommendations. I'm well chuffed. https://www.swanflight.com/record-boxes-1/7-100-record-box.html Cheers Richard
  16. I'm sh*tt*ng myself about selling all my old bootlegs on eBay now
  17. Off the top of my head ... Original - styrene - stick on grey paper label - ZTSC stamped. Bootleg - vinyl - moulded over grey label - matrix details scratched in. Cheers Richard
  18. Just got this message back. "Hi I go away for a couple of days and this listing went ballistic! I had no intention of deceiving and I have now cancelled all bids and put in the description that it is 2nd pressing (as I cant list the word bootleg or counterfeit). Regards. Tim"
  19. I already messaged him on ebay and due to no reply have reported it to ebay
  20. Bet you don't get a reply
  21. Lorraine - it's closer than that now - Pied Piper has 44 votes and Holland-Dozier-Holland has 49 votes. Pied Piper needs only 6 votes to take first place Go Pied Piper Richard
  22. This is the sellers email from his listing if anyone wants to drop him a line: makintime452@hotmail.co.uk
  23. I like the look of that Mark I don't collect acetates but if I did I would be seriously tempted - it's a fabulous double-sider. Cheers Richard
