  1. There are different pressing of this one. Don't think it has been booted (although I do recall previously hearing rumours of this). Certainly nothing in Manship's bootleg guide about it. There is an ATCO distributed version, which is referenced on the label, and also a local Detroit version without the ATCO mention and referencing 'An Empire Production'. Cheers Richard
  2. I choose the progressive scene I do not want to be part of the nostalgia scene. Richard
  3. Peter - you need to get out more R P.S. A huge congratulations to everyone on here and a big thanks to Mike.
  4. Thanks mate - will look into it Cheers Richard
  5. When is the next one please? Cheers Richard
  6. Hasn't the Velvet Satins been booted a few times, or is it that there were lots of different designs on originals? Luther Ingram on HIB and Dena Barnes have been booted a few times. Cheers Richard
  7. Where is the Black Bull please? Cheers Richard
  8. Can you please put back the sold prices as per site guidelines? Thanks Richard
  9. Always quite liked this one. Billy Kennedy - If I Was A Kid (Silver) Where was it played? Is it ever played now - and if not, what would happen if it was? Presume the Betty Wright version was a cover - seeing as B. Kennedy was one of the song writers? Cheers Richard
  10. There's only one way to own that Silky Hargraves record ... on an original Dearborn multi-coloured issue in a lovely (clashing!) company sleeve Cheers Richard
  11. Fair enough - the one I posted above is £16.00 with 4 bidders at the mo. Why would you bid on such a record at auction - given that it says it's a new re-issue? Would you not know there were a few hundred? Cheers Richard
  12. Because of the instrumental? It's already available on reissue vinyl and CD Just interested Cheers Richard
  13. Yes, remember all that stuff coming out Dave - and probably means it's legit as it was a Groovesville thing Cheers Richard
  14. Yes, I read that before posting but it does not say it is a legitimate licensed release does it? Weren't Tim B and Martin K behind that Maple Street Detroit Dynamite CD that is reputed to be all bootlegged tracks? Cheers Richard
  15. New one on me this. Anglo-American selling it - so I guess Martin K is the Canadian link - Soul Tribe, Toronto, Canada. Also presuming it is not legit and is a bootleg - or am I wrong on that? Apologies to those concerned if I am. Cheers Richard https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/281183351097?ssPageName=STRK:MEWAX:IT&_trksid=p3984.m1423.l2649
  16. The LP also came out in CD was it late 90s? As did the Hesitations Kapp LP. Cheers Richard
  17. Here's one on eBay - at least the seller is upfront. I would have got a better label from a nicer condition original if I was going to make a fake with it - but then maybe it is a double-bluff JACKIE BEAVERS (a) I NEED MY BABY, REVILOT RV208,THIS IS AN OLD RE ISSUE COPY WITH PHOTO COPIED LABELS TAKE FROM THE ORIGINAL,AS THE PROPER b SIDE LABEL, (LOVE THAT NEVER GROWS OLD), MEGA RARE ON AN ORIGINAL, IF ONE BECAME AVAILABLE IT WOULD SET YOU BACK £800, CLASSIC NORTHERN SOUL DANCER, CONDITION IS EX, WOL,THIS IS NOT AN ORIGINAL, BID WITH CONFIDENCE. https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/181234980212?ssPageName=STRK:MEWAX:IT&_trksid=p3984.m1423.l2649 I like the bid with confidence bit ... confident that you are getting a shit looking fake Cheers Richard
  18. Yes please Ady. May have some records/info somewhere. Cheers Richard
  19. Thought you were pulling our legs Pete
  20. I would like to know who this was as well as the others who asked above Steve Can you post on here please, or maybe PM me if you don't want to be public about it? Cheers Richard
  21. How about, make some nice repro sleeves based on the design you were planning to use on the labels. Keep the 45s as they are but stick them in nice sleeves Cheers Richard
  22. That's well funny As Peter says, the type of paper and print is a way of detecting whether discs are genuine or not - just like the plastic can be used to work out if a record is authentic because of the various pressing styles and markings. It all comes down to different materials and techniques being available at different times and to ongoing innovation with these - just like any other manufacturing process. Richard
  23. It's a repro/bootleg on 45. The original only came out on the Kapp LP With A Dab Of Soul. There was a legit Kapp #819 but that was "There Was A Time" and "This Thing". So if you want a legit original you need the LP - which is essential anyway Hope this helps. Cheers Richard
