  6. Isn't the first Little Anthony & The Imperials? Thought so initially ... then I googled this and they are the same suits Richard
  7. I always used to avoid W.O.L. like the plague and only wanted perfectly clean labels. Then I saw the light one day and started to appreciate some of the magic stuff that appears on labels, like date stamps, shop/distributor and other stamps, DJ scribbled comments. Even some crosses can make some labels look better I reckon Here's one I bought exactly because it had what I guess must be a DJ's comment on. This one shows that Sue Perrin wrote the song herself (writer credits missing from the label) and that she was "16 yrs from Det"[roit]. Great stuff in my book Cheers Richard CLICK ON IMAGE TO SEE LARGER PICTURE
  8. I have a WDJ Jock Mitchell - Not A Chance In A Million on Impact that I'm pretty sure has "COOP" on it - and if I recall correctly came from Shifty around that time. Cheers Richard
  9. Not sure if this has been done yet. Edward Hamilton - Baby Don't You Weep (Mary Jane) Out A Site Reissue "Now Deleted" @ £699 https://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=261455384134&ssPageName=ADME:B:SS:GB:3160 Cheers Rchard

  13. ON NOW FOLKS Tulip Radio - 7- 9pm. Two hours of great soul music and excellent banter www.tulip-radio.co.uk Or use the TuneIn app on your phone. Cheers Richard
  14. Oh no Stu that drives me barmy when people say complementing when they mean complimenting.
  15. OK - thanks - thought you meant "typo" as in typographical/spelling error Cheers Richard
  16. What's the typo please? Cheers Richard
  17. My take on this is as follows: Jimmy "Soul" Clark catalogue/release number K106 - it is at the bottom of the label on both sides. The matrix number for the track "Soul" is C 100 in the left centre of the label. The matrix for "I Blew A Good Thing" is C 101 in a similar position. On the Volumes - the matrix for "Am I Losing You" is K 100 which is also in the left centre of the label. The matrix for "Ain't Gonna Give You Up" is K 101 in a similar position. That would make the catalogue/release number 1551 - which is at the bottom of the label on both sides. So I agree that while the label designs are the same, the numbering system is different. Cheers Richard
  18. It wasn't in "A Collector's Guide To Detroit". Cheers Richard
  19. Great thread this folks - keep it coming Cheers Richard
  20. I know I started the thread but just thought of one myself Leah Dawson on Magic City on a DEMO - that seems to confuse many people. The white DJ bootlegs seem to be sold regularly as originals - and also sold regularly as bootlegs - but in my experience people don't also know there is an original white demo of this one. I've just confused the hell out of myself with that post Off to bed ... Cheers Richard
  21. This came out on several formats. There's the plain yellow with black print, multi coloured label mainly green and black I think from memory, plain green, white label versions with and without "NOT FOR SALE" types DJ indicators on. Might be more versions. Don't think it was bootlegged Cheers Richard
  22. ON air now people - TNT show 2 - Thursday. 7-9PM. Radio Newark. https://www.radionewark.co.uk GO TO TUNEIN ACTUALLY AS THERE WERE A FEW GLITCHES WITH THE PLAYER: https://tunein.com/radio/Radio-Newark-s193516/ Always a cracking show Cheers Richard
  23. Thanks Derek So I guess the person could well have got an original copy then after all Cheers Richard
  24. Hi Derek - welcome to Soulsource. So are you saying you still have this record and the eBay seller only used the scan? That was one of the possibilities I think I mentioned earlier. Or, did you sell on the copy in the scan and think that was the actual one for sale. Cheers Richard
