  1. Peanut 1001 is an interesting one as it had both an Inkster address and a New York one Check out the scans below. Anyone got an Inkster address copy for me (in top condition) please? Cheers Richard
  2. A Canadian label no? So wrong country - albeit Detroit material. Cheers Richard
  3. I gotta say Mark B, you have a significant point. I don't get to venues these days but I am 'practising' (as you put it Mark W) on a very regular basis. If someone collects records, researches the artists, labels, history and is 'on the scene' through this and other forums, is that a truly engaged soulie? - or is it that attendance at venues is the acid test? Regards to all practising soulies Richard
  4. Surely in 60s list - even if also in 70s As per The Bee Jays - I'll Find You/Please Don't Say We're Through (Prime 10001). (same songs as Valerie & Nick on Glover and the Debonaires on Golden World). Cheers Richard
  5. Can't wait for both/either R
  6. Uriel Jones is one cool dude R
  7. I have these two scans of the multi-coloured Highland Park address Aquarius label. Dates anyone please? Cheers Richard
  8. The burlesque thing with Kim Cattrall was worth looking at Richard
  9. Now as in it will come on soon (I'm watching now) or I have missed it already? Cheers Richard
  10. Yes, I prefer my lovely mint yellow issue - a proper one you could actually have bought in a proper shop Test pressings are fine, but I don't tend to go for them personally as it would be a whole load more records to buy and money to spend. I also wonder about quality - after all who is to say it's a test pressing of a decent press that was used for the official pressing, rather than a duff test pressing that was never pressed up? Obviously, playing it helps assess the quality Cheers Richard
  11. Agreed Marc - wasn't Check-Mate basically the Chess/Checker sub-label for issuing Detroit material? Therefore, it would be collected by many Detroit collectors, although the label itself was registed in the Windy City. It is also right I think that Zodiac and Boo are on the Chicago list, even though much of the output was Detroit and of interest to Detroit collectors. What about Aquarius though? That was also a Ric Williams (therefore Chicago) label wasn't it? Is this (Candace Love etc.) Aquarius label linked with the multi-coloured Aquarius label with releases by The Domestic-Five and The Soul In-Pressions? That one had a Highland Park, Michigan address. Anyone confirm please? Cheers Richard
  12. Spotted that Lock and Midas are listed twice That is one hell of an impressive list Chalky - well done that man! Cheers Richard
  13. Here is the other Cheers Richard
  14. Generally thought of as a Detroit label I think - listed as such in our 'list all the Detroit labels' thread. Here are a couple of scans for the two 45s I have by Gloria Taylor (not scans of my own 45s mind) Cheers Richard
  15. What about Robert 'Red Top' Young's - Your Future on Soulsations? I know Red Top was an Ohio Artist, but isn't this credited as a Detroit release? Cheers Richard
  16. Hi all Can anyone point me in the direction of a King Soul label listing - known for Gloria Taylor's 45s - please? Cheers Richard
  17. Nice one Alan. I will PM you. Richard
  18. No worries Al. To save you a bit of time, here is the first series - which for some reason people seem to forget about but no Golden World or Ric-Tic collection is complete without it. Golden World 101 Sue Perrin - I Wonder/Put A Ring On My Finger Ric-Tic 102 Joyce Webb - You've Got A Whole Lot Of Living To Do/Closer To The Blues Ric-Tic 103 Barbara De Costa - Now I Know/The One In Your Arms Golden World 104 Sue Perrin - You Are My Love/Ring Bells Ring Golden World 105 Rocky Hart - Someone Stole My Baby Doing The Twist/When A Teenager Gets Blue Ric-Tic 106 Terry Warren - I Don't Know/It's Written All Over Your Face Golden World 107 Leroy Smalley - Ain't It A Shame/Girls Are Sentimental Golden World 108 Joyce Webb - It's Easier Said Than Done/Laughing To Keep From Crying Cheers Richard
  19. Yes it's on the Golden World first series. Rocky Hart - Someone Stole My Baby Doing The Twist/When A Teenager Gets Blue (Golden World #105). They certainly turn up, but the trick is to get one in really nice condition (unlike the scan below ). Cheers Richard
  20. This is one of my all time faves - it is a truly awesome outing with a superb vocal - ooommmpphh!! Richard
  21. Hi there Looking for a copy of Rocky Hart on Golden World please. Must be EX or better. If you can help out please just PM me. TIA Richard
  22. Took me a good while to find one of those as well Tony - well spotted! Cheers Richard
  23. Think this needs to go in the 70s rather than the 60s section. Jack Ashford as shown is from 1975. Cheers Richard
  24. BIG BUMP!!! Hey you guys - c'mon I need this for my Christmas present to myself! I already have the lovely Circa paper bag to put it in - just need the actual 45 now Cheers Richard
  25. I know how you feel and sometimes it seems like politeness and good manners are in short supply in this world. That said, I agree totally that most people on here and on our scene generally are decent well-meaning people. On the occasions I have been late in replying to messages (e.g. like now because my Mum is in hospital at the moment) I have been grateful for the patience people have shown me - even holding records for me for quite a while. I do think there should be room for a bit of negotiation or haggling on price. So why not just put a time limit for a reply when sending a PM in reply to a want, saying you will offer the item for sale (or offers) on the thread if you haven't heard anything back by then? All clear and above board then Cheers Richard
