  1. Not anywhere in the same heart-wrenching league as Nelson IMVFHO mate Cheers Richard
  2. Is this the most heart-wrenching soul song ever? Awesome deep Detroit. The other side of Mojo Man on Rambler 3001. Play it loud!!! Cheers Richard Nelson Sanders - I'm Lonely (Rambler 3001-A) -
  3. Thanks guys - record safely received now and very nice indeed - so all clear now and closing thread Cheers Richard
  4. Go here Tony https://www..co.uk/ You can register easily and quickly under the log in or auction section. Cheers Richard
  5. Just had a quick chat with Pat this morning and he ran me though how the bidding works, including managing proxy bids which may be received by phone/email etc. All sorted as far as I'm concerned and I would definitately use the auction again - some really nice items on there. In any case, I'm really happy with the 45 I won - a good price and I've been after that one for a while Cheers Richard
  6. Thanks guys for the useful advice. Sounds very likely it was a proxy bid placed by Pat on behalf of a customer. My finishing price wasn't a problem in any case. I will just ask Pat the question when I pay up, so I know the form for future reference Cheers Richard
  7. buddy smith - when you lose the one you love -
  8. Thanks guys. I would still be interested please if someone has the definitive on this so that I have a better feel before talking to Pat. I won the item, so no worries there, but it was still for about £35 quid more than my original bid - which was actually the top bid within the 18:00hrs published finish time. I'm not going to fall out over 35 quid but if I hadn't done what I did and stuck in a further bid I would have lost the item to someone else who submitted their bid after the published auction close time. Cheers Richard
  9. No mate - that's it - right at the start! That's where I reckon he says "When you lose the one you love ..." - listen to it - that's one reason why it's a fantastic record Richard
  10. Looking for some advice please guys. I bid for the first time today on Pat Brady's online auction. I bid in the last few seconds and got the highest bid - then the time went over the auction end. I checked back about 2 minutes later and saw there was a higher bid - even though the auction should have closed by then. I then had a go to see whether it was still possible to place a bid myself - it was at finish time minus 2 minutes and my new total then showed. Before I ask Pat, does anyone know what the score is please with this? Surely my first bid counts as it was there within the official closing time, and all later bids are invalid ??? And why the f**k is it still possible to place a bid when the auction is closed? Thanks in advance for any advice. Cheers Richard
  11. Agree on George Lemons - a horrifically poor record Buddy Smith however is in my top ten. I love the pace and atmosphere - I love the lisp - but most of all I love it when Buddy sings the lyrics "When You Lose The One You Love ..." so damned bloody fast that you have to stop and work out what he actually just said Cheers Richard
  12. Anyone got the definitive story behind these two versions of Dusty Wilson on Mutt please? Different label variations - one crediting the Corals and also with the Inkster address. Anyone know if the dead wax details are the same please? Cheers Richard
  13. Hi Boba Sorry, I don't have any details on the release with "Come To Me" on the flip - so I can't confirm either way. Just to add to the details, for those who are interested, the other side of the regular release of the disc on Galaxy 767 is "Fever, Fever, Fever". That version came out as an issue and as a DJ copy with at least two different label layouts (see scans below). "Fever, Fever, Fever" is if course the same song as "Love Is Fever" by the Brothers of Soul on Boo 112 (which was distributed by Fantasy/Galaxy). Again, there were several label variations on this one. Cheers Richard
  14. I haven't listened to the 45, but surely isn't LC on vocals in there? Anyone got a soundfile? I can't be arsed finding it at this end Cheers Richard
  15. Well done Mike - nothwithstanding anything that anyone else has said or done, that Levine post was a total disgrace - the man has something seriously wrong upstairs. Cheers Richard
  16. That's brilliant. Didn't know you could do that I never spotted that scroll right function before either - loads more options Cheers Richard
  17. I have one of those Ram-Brock test pressing copies somewhere - plus a nice one of Joe L on Clissac which was a Ram-Brock subsidiary - will scan 'em when I get the chance. All good stuff this. Richard

  24. The white ones are the most desirable IMVFHO Pat Brady has/had a white audition copy on his list this week at 200 squid. Cheers Richard
  25. That really is an awful record - to call it even northern soul is beyond me (at a niter or not). Cloth ears and deep pockets My sincere condolences Discuss ... Richard
