  5. I remember Dennis Brennan selling one of these a few years back, but can't remember how much it went for. Is he still selling 45s? Good find Chris, great track. Now, where's my LP.. Rich
  6. Hi Tony, Is the Mel Wynn still available please? If so please PM me payment details. Thanks, Richard
  7. Hi Lorraine, What a true honour to have you on here and how lovely of you to take the time to reply to everyone in person - you are a true legend! Here's a few pics from the Great Yarmouth weekender from 1991. It was so exciting as a fresh faced 20 year old (where has all the time gone!) to see you, Eddie and Garland Green performing in person when me and my pals were dancing to your records every weekend. It was a fab weekend and it holds many happy memories (was my first soul weekender). Look at Eddie's big hat and even bigger grin! I sincerely hope you are over in these parts again soon and we can all thank you in person but in the meantime I hope you're feeling the love. Best, Rich
  8. Mine's a yellow issue too..
  9. Some crackers in there my friend! Jimmy Beaumont - love it. Someone buy it. Mossy on here put me onto that approx 20 years ago. He was showing off though and had it on British. See you soon Tony and love to the mrs.
  10. I only just saw your PM from weeks ago and have just replied. I reckon we do the 100 Club pal and you can crash at my place down there... R
  11. Happy happy days buddy! We were 18 and for us it was pretty incredible and we were absorbing so many tunes new to our ears. You'd come up and doss at my room there and then I'd come down to London for the 100 Club. That record bar was something else. I remember lending Bicknell dosh to buy Sherlock Holmes. I also bought Tobi Lark "Happiness Is Here" the same night for £18 on a Topper demo which I still have. Happy days. Check this pic out from April 1989 of me and thee with hair! But what the f**k is that caterpillar above your lip Rich
  12. There's been one on a buy it now on Ebay for £396 (!) for 6 months or longer now. I think it's Rob Messer selling it. Rich
  13. Picked up a black stocker from Brad Hales if memory serves me right for £250ish 3/4 years ago. Not one that crops up very often that's for sure. Ace Detroit! Rich
  14. Hi Godz, Yes, copyright and design rights are protected. Having said that, if you're adapting some of "our" old tiny defunct labels then the risk is virtually non-existant. PM me if wanna chat it through. Cheers rich
  15. That's because you, me and Mossy are North Walians Mark with superior taste and open to all music We still look back with fondness on the TTs New Years Day alldayers from 1989/1990. Incidentally, I found the tape the other day of Roger Banks' DJ spot from the 1990 New Year's Day alldayer and I've stuck it on my pc. Do you and Mossy want a copy? I'm sending one to Roger too. Rich
  16. Sounds like a filler on a Totally Wired Acid Jazz album to these ears (and I love all that stuff and have all the albums), although as you say, the funk collectors no doubt feel the same about some of our 45s. Not an inspiring tune to moi though... Rich
  17. A few years ago now, but a bloke had listed the flip of Chuck Cockerham and not listed under "northern" or "soul" so I PMd him and we swiftly cut a deal. I offered $50 which he accepted but then I saw him listing a Barbara McNair too, so I sent him $100 for the two, as felt a wee bit guilty as he was really polite and helpful. Both arrived stone mint. The other 45s were pop and country (he only listed about 20) so god knows how them two ended up in there. Happy days You just got to be really lucky these days as most are spotted by one of us this side of the pond as soon as they're listed. Rich
  18. Blessed Teds, now there's a blast from my past! I'm from Ruthin (Brynhyfryd School) and we played your school in the final of the Clwyd Coast Cup as it was then (1987 ish). The final was played at your old school and your headmaster got the whole school out to watch. We thrahed you 8 - 0 in front of your school. Happy days . Sorry to go off topic but couldn't resist! Talking of Wellington Rd in Rhyl, whatever happened to Rhyl Spin... Rich
  19. Just dragged myself out of bed with stinking hangover and as usual stuck the Ipod on as I got in the shower as I do every morning. Stuck it on shuffle and an old Ted Massey CD came on (cheers Ted!) with George Pepp "The Feeling Is Real" and I just thought, this is absolutely why I love this music, what a tune! What's done it for you of late? Doesn't have to be rare or expensive, but boy, that tune just brought back so many memories! Ace! Rich
  20. The mystery deepends - here's another to add to the pile! Rich
  21. James, PM'd ya. Rich
  22. Hi Phil, Have PM'd you... Rich
  23. What a humble and delightful reply! They cut some great sides. Gonna dig some out later.. Rich
