  2. That's terrible news. Here she is at Glasto a couple of years back. RIP. R
  3. Yesterday was watching the lovely eulogies and comments on Ali (what a man) and my eyes nearly popped out of my head when Sky interviewed one Sonny Fishback who is apparently a lifelong friend of Ali's from Louisville - link below. He gave an amazing interview as you'll see but looking him up on Facebook etc it seems he is THE Sonny Fishback of Heart Breaking Man on Out-A-Site. Wow and Wow! RIP Ali - incredible man. 4. You have to love the Brewster! Many a good night in Lowlife including seeing you on the odd occasion..... Rich
  5. That's a real shame. Was great in there and they looked after you while you were there. Was it derelict or just closed?? R
  6. I'd start with Jim Russell's - loads of 45s and vinyl.... 1837 Magazine St, New Orleans, LA 70130, United States +1 504-522-2602 https://www.facebook.com/Jim-Russell-Records-182325954704/ I spent 2 days in there when I went! That was a number of years ago now, but you should turn up bits in there. Good luck! Rich
  7. So sad to hear this. I remember me and Mossy sharing a Prestatyn chalet with him and John Evans who also sadly left us. We had a hoot. So much knowledge with those two lovely guys and I'm sure they will be reunited somewhere. Will be sadly missed in North Wales and beyond. Sincere condolences to his family and friends, RIP Joe. R
  8. Hi Mal, Hope you're good pal. Mine's orange/white and I got it from Mick Smith early 90s. I've just had a look on popsike and there are more of the orange/white variety. Cracking record though! I first heard this at one of the Cleethorpes weekenders and then badgered Mick until he let me buy his. Rich
  9. I just can't believe it. A dear friend and a great man. So many good times, especially our Hamburg trips, one of which ended up with me and him in a karaoke bar at some ungodly hour having a sing off with the bar owner. Great memories of a smashing bloke. RIP big man, we miss you already. R
  10. Congratulations - superb to see all that hard work and financial risk coming good. Well done all Rich
  11. PMd you Dave. Cheers, Rich
  12. Frank Foster for me too Martyn! Not heard it out in a while but still gets the pulse racing.... Rich
  13. Personally, I still find as a general rule that U.S dealers grade conservatively - more often than not vg graded records drop through the letterbox as Ex or even unplayed, so I'm still nearly always pleasantly surprised! Rich
  14. Bagged my copy from Mick Smith via Pete. Get yourselves to Driving Beat in Leeds on 18th Oct and you'll hear it! Craved it for years - what a double sider! Remember Marc Forrest playing it at your bash Dave - see you tomorrow I hope assuming we arrive back in one piece from Seville Rich
  15. Like many others, only knew Rick from ringing up for records, but he was always really helpful and a nice fella. RIP Rick. Rich
  16. Lee, it's: LilJimmyCrank Cheers, Rich
  17. That's the one! Cheers... R
  18. Mine's a Horaces. Bought from a stall at Blackpool mod rally '87 or '88. Bought Roosevelt Grier at same time. When Magic Touch hit it was just incredible. Vividly remember being with Mossy at a nighter in Stoke (was it called the Longton Suite?) and the pair of us jumping over a table to get to the dancefloor as the opening bars hit the lugs. Happy days! R
  19. Speedy service and top spindles! Cheers Ray. Rich
  20. Cheers Alison, that worked, thanks. R
  21. Mike, the donation page link doesn't seem to work - just sends me to the home page of the florist? R
  22. So sad. Condolences and sympathies to his family and friends. What a loss to this site and life in general. Really loved his insightful posts and loved his non-scene perspective which often put things into a more meaningful context. Let's be honest, our scene is a bit weird and quirky and his fresh angle and his forthright manner used to make me chuckle. Take no prisoners! Like many others had gained lots of knowledge and been put onto many records by Boba. There aren't many on this site with the knowledge he had. And the amount of artists he tracked down and interviewed. Jeeps. Boba, you'll be missed my friend, sleep tight. Rich
  23. Bagged 2 for Friday from official site. Tremendous! That will be some weekend with the 100 Club on too. Ady, 2 tickets for me too please!! Rich
