  1. Lighten up fella and get off your conceited high horse Who are you, some sort of soul judge that decrees this is good? We're all entitled to our opinions I love black male group harmony soul, but this track does nothing for me. Personally. As I said. Jeepers, I post a tongue in cheek comment and get a reply like that - lighten up you boring sod. Are you honestly telling me this is a better record male black group harmony wise than the Caesars (Lala) I Love You on Lanie. I think not. Come to Soulsville in Leeds that me and Jamie run or better still come to the Blackpool alldayer tomorrow where we're DJing and then tell me I have no appreciation of male group harmony soul. Sanctimonious oaf. Your post lacked logic and humour. It's idiots like you with no sense of humour or perspective that sometimes makes this otherwise excellent site a little tiresome. Rich
  2. People are right, Lady In Green is unique. Uniquely rubbish. Never has such a crap song been so overrated on the scene. Bland in the extreme. "She Had Such A Sweet Smile" - I doubt she'd still have it if she heard that pile of dross. There's no way he ever pulled her after that rubbish. "You penned a song for me - it was $hit - here's the flex from the kettle - go hang yourself". The Ra-Sel "I Have A Girl" is the best, followed by "I'll Keep Holding On". Lady in Green really is turd. If it wan't by The Magnetics and wasn't a hard one to get, it'd be a £10 tape swappers 45 that would hardly ever be bought. And this of course is only my personal opinion and I know some of you like it. But you're wrong Rich
  3. At the very least Dave it's totally discourteous to you that he's used it, presumably totally without your permission? He's also blatantly infringing your copyright, which does exist in a "typographical arrangement" i.e the look/info of your web page. The links also refer back to your site. As I say, hardly a hanging offence, but just rude and discourteous and not the done thing at the end of the day. Rich
  4. Dearest Kenneth, Is it a band a few of us will have heard of before, or is it fairly obscure??? As a leftfield guess, The Road on Kama Sutra? Or Eyes of Blue? Rich

One stands out by a mile for me - Barbara Redd - clip clop cowboy dross Rich
  6. This is what I sent him last time: "You're a fraudster and Ebay have been informed and will be suspending your account - you dickhead." I know this wasn't the most intellectual put down I've ever used , but I was slightly enraged at the time that these people can even try this sort of thing and I'm sure some innocent people have been stung. He replied: "have no idea which one of you jerks went around, emailing people saying that I am a fraud ???, Look at my feedback !!!! regardless I will be reporting you to ebay and anybody else who interferred and misguided buyers & ruined my auction" We should all look out for this guy and keep reporting him until he is removed from Ebay. Alternatively, given Dan Collins is a paid up member of the soul police, think he should be dispatched across the pond to nick him and beat him to within an inch of his life Rich
  7. /index.php?showtopic=20433 Think this is the link...
  8. Isn't this the same joker who had the Cahmeres and other "biggies" (think Yvonne Vernee etc) up about a month/6 weeks ago - all with old pics/scans from Ebay. A load of us contacted him and I reported him to ebay. He then sent me threatening emails saying he was going to report me for ruining his "genuine" auctions and was going to re-list the 45s with "Buy It Now" on them. Moderators - link to old thread??? R
  9. Anyone got a sound file please? Thanks, Rich

I've been offered 5 copies and I think Baz said he'd been offered 10.... Rich
  11. It means the highest form of rage/anger possible Grrrr!!!!
  12. No, to put it bluntly, he's talking bollocks. You are not infringing any trademark/copyright by typing up your own discography of any group/artist or indeed writing about them. Utter tripe. Get said assistant to grovel personally in writing and post it up on here. Unbelievable. Jesus, you run a good and useful website and that's how you're treated. I'd be apoplectic Let me at him Dave!! Rich
  13. Trouty, personally i think Mikey looks more like Rufus Lumley.. Rich

I salute you Captian [desperately in need of saluting smiley] Pike
  15. Yep Baz, been asked to "make me an offer" for 5 copies!!!! Rich

The original is on styrene with grey stick on label. The usual brittle stuff as per Ric Tic etc. Apparently booted twice, both with the right coloured labels, but they're on vinyl with moulded over labels. Not got my original copy to hand, but pretty sure it's got the ztsc stamp in the deadwax too - anyone confirm? (I may be going mad and may have made the last bit up (!), I'll check when get home tonight). Rich
  17. Now then young Gedda, the Tony Fox LP is Jamie's bought of Captain Mainwaring (Steve Mannion) and was on the Soulsville 2nd Anniversary CD and not the CD swop!! The tache definitely makes this a world one off. Personally with that tach I think it's a dead ringer for Mick Smith....
  18. Now then Brettski, Paul Capon had a copy of the 7" on his list 18mths/2 years ago approx.... Rich
  19. £100 in Browny's... Rich
  20. No worries Pete Rich
  21. Christ, give the guy a break. Jason's a nice fella. He puts it up on here first and says if no interest he'll put it on Ebay. I'm sure if someone on here had offered him $1200 he'd have taken it, given Ebay's slice of the winning bid etc. All you do is post that it's only worth $800/$900 and then you whinge because you haven't seen it on Ebay - were you just trying to wangle the price down? It really gets on my tits when normal soulies like us (i.e punters not dealers) put records for sale on here and people post "it's not worth that" or similar. If you think they're over priced, don't buy. But don't try and deter everyone else from buying by posting up that they're overpriced and generally having a go and being a smartarse. Normal punters on here sell records for all sorts of reasons - to fund new purchases and sometimes to pay bloody bills, so less sniping please. Rich
  22. Hi Dukester, Should be around £100-£125 really. I wouldn't pay much more. They crop up on lists fairly regularly and i'm sure someone on here somewhere will have one they're prepared to part with. Top tune Rich
  23. Don't be ridiculous Cookster - they're middle aged Newies !!!! Discuss... Rich p.s you well???
  24. How you can class this as Rockabilly is beyond me! It's black, authentic, rhythm & blues from a Chicago label/group synonymous with great soul/r&b 45s that have been played for years on the northern scene. So do you also hate stuff like Bud Harper and Mickie Champion? Do you call those records rockabilly?! It's definitely the "right" side of R&B and can't possibly be compared to some of the other pap played that masquerades as R&B e.g Barbara Redd etc I could understand more if you didn't like it because it's been played a lot, but however you look at it, it's not rockabilly in the slightest. Rich
  25. Craig, look at his feedback and the items he has sold - no other soul records at all. Too much of a coinicidence to be selling a handful of records and within that handful is Yvonne Vernee, Cashmeres, Bill Bush etc etc. Plus the pictures/scans he's used are from items that have recently sold on Ebay i.e he's nicked the pics from old auctions. Plus, he won't accept Paypal which gives a certain degree of protection. Get wise fella, always check feedback and what sort of items the feedback is for Rich
