Calling Uk Collectors - Stunning Mint Uk Demos
Rich Buckley replied to Rich Buckley's topic in Record Sales
Hi Mark, It's in the original post above, cheers Rich -
Given the description i.e not saying it's a boot/reissue and referring to the £3k value, it's clearly out of order (well fraud to be exact (or "obtaining a pecuniary advantage by deception if you want to get technical), and instead of slagging off the punters who have mistakingly thought it was an original, tossers like this need to be weeded out. Have contacted all concerned. Rich

Calling Uk Collectors - Stunning Mint Uk Demos
Rich Buckley replied to Rich Buckley's topic in Record Sales
Ken, I sent you the list on Thursday after you emailed me - did you not receive??! As I said to Pete and others, I'm not a record dealer, I bought this lot and what a find it is. Me and Jamie run Soulsville in Leeds, or did do as we're now having a rest. I'm just a normal punter as most of you know, not a dealer. I just got lucky with the find. A lot has flown out. From the main list I've sold 61 out of 159 records in 4 days which aint bad. As Rod and Tony have said (and others I've sold to have emailed me) these records are unplayed and everyone has emailed me after receiving their records saying "stunning" etc. Email or PM me with your email address to see what's left! Simon, how can it be a witch hunt when KR has been asked very nicely several times over from people who were at Whitby (and some locked out) to answer legitimate questions posed by his paying customers? It's not good enough saying he's chosen to resign his account from Soul Source. I know Mags & Kirsty personally as do many others on the soul scene and they are genuine, nice people and not trouble makers in any way, shape or form. Both were subjected to bullying emails and in Mags' case a bullying letter from KR, threatening legal action against her purely for the post her friend put up on the Whitby thread. Read her post yourself. As for threatening PMs to Kirsty, do you condone that or think it's right? She's a paying punter remember and cannot in any way be part of the anti-KR or anti-making money brigade. Read Kirsty's posts which asked legitimate questions relating to her friends being locked out(Kirsty was inside). KR's PMs were threatening and bullying. This could all have ended ages ago had KR come on here and explained and answered the legitimate questions posed, so claimimg it is a "witch hunt" is frankly bollocks and I wish you'd stop whining on about it. It can't be a witch hunt when he's offered the chance to put his side of the story but refuses and in so doing shows total disrespect for his paying customers. To my mind, the following need answering: 1. How many wristbands were there and how many tickets were sold by KR? 2. Once the situation had started, why did nobody take down the names and addresses of the punters outside? This would have at least placated some people. As it is, there are numerous people who had paid for tickets who were locked out and whose names and addresses were never taken. Please explain why this wasn't done (as Kirsty legitimately and politely asked in her first post). If people bought a ticket legitimately and were locked out, names not taken and not been offered a refund then that is clearly a breach of contract. If the situation was too volatile on the night for KR to go outside and take down the names personally, what has been done since by the promoters to try and trace these innocent punters? It's clear from the thread that lots of people at the event loved it and enjoyed it, albeit they were not involved in being locked out. Mark 65 posted "However the situation on Saturday night spoilt it for me and I along with my 5 friends decided to leave when Kev asked for volunteers, and on getting up on Sunday morning headed straight home as the enjoyment had gone. On speaking with Kev on Saturday night before I left he gave us his 'cast iron guarantee' that we would receive a full refund, yet no comment is made of this in the news article I have just read." - I'd be interested to know, has Mark 65 been given a full refund?? Mark 65 are you reading this? Are there people on here that were locked out and have not been offered a refund? 3. Clearly anyone selling forged tickets is a scumbag (as are the soulies who purchased them) and should be banned from everywhere. Is it true the court case is now over? If so, what was the result (a name and the court where it was heard would be great so we can verify) and has it been established exactly how many he sold? Is it true as has been suggested he had all his money (found on him) returned to him? As KR himself said in the thread "We cannot answer the question until the Police and Security have delivered us a full report". Well now the case is allegedly over, let's have the answers then. 4. Even if the whole fiasco was entirely down to the forger, surely surely surely, KR & Snowy should have said the simple words "I'm Sorry" to their legitimate paying punters (even though it was mostly out of their control (if it was)). Not once has this been said. Once it was public knowledge what KR had PM'd to Kirsty, he relented slightly and said she wasn't banned for life, but did not once mutter the simple words "I'm sorry". Bullying paying punters and then not saying sorry is in my opinion pretty awful. At the very least, this has been handled pretty badly in my opinion in terms of innocent paying punters being locked out and names and addresses not taken. As Pete S said ages ago, this could be sorted very quickly if KR came back on here and answered the specific questions and points raised. I have no axe to grind with KR, but anyone reading these threads can see that points need answering (that were initially presented in a legitimate and polite manner). Carte blanche refusing to comment does nobody any good and just leaves people frustrated and angry and aggrieved if they were one of the victims. I'd urge KR and Snowy to simply come on here and answer the points raised and then maybe we can all move forward constructively and get some recompense for the innocent victims and stop speculating as to what really happened. Over to you KR and Snowy.... Rich

Given SS members were bullied and threatened with legal action and being banned from KR's events for life when all they did was ask legitimate questions about why their friends were wrongly locked out of Whitby, this thread is pretty serious and maybe one of the mods can put a link up to the other main thread for Col (and others) who didn't see that one and remove the stupid posts in this thread which trivialise a serious situation/debate.Thanks. Rich Sorry Shane, you beat me to it. Hope you're on the mend fella. See you soon. Rich

Dave, nobody's ridiculed Levine's sexuality, other than the link to the ebay seller with his description which does. Certainly Stuart has not and it's bang out of order saying so. Look at Stuart's first post, post #15. If you actually read the whole thread properly, you'll see that Stuart only gave a two word reply "Gary Glitter" into the ridiculous comment by Levine's sidecar (sic) that Levine pressing the Four Vandals and ripping off innocent collectors and DJs was ok, because any publicity is good publicity, hence Stuart's post proving that isn't the case. To suggest otherwise is bollocks and I think Simon mis-read it too, hence his subsequent posts with Stuart. Anyway, you good mate?! Rich

But which one are you selling? The one that you thought you were selling, the one you think you are selling or the one you think you thought you were selling but are now unsure?? Rich
-
I've bought off Funkyou quite a bit - he's reliable and trustworthy, so if he's saying it's an original it will be Rich

Andy you Glory Boy!!!! Quality! Will have to dig that out at home... Rich
-
If he's got other items up let me know an item number and i'll "Ask seller a question" and then we'll know whether he's just ignoring you or gone awol... Rich
-
Hi Derek, Have you formally hit the "request total from seller" icon - at least that will be official for Ebay purposes so you'll have an audit trail etc. Has he got other listings up currently? Rich

Very sad news. When you think about detroit 45s and artists other than motown, there can't be many that put out as many 45s as him and with such quality. Not a duffer amongst them. Although Sweet Lies/ Peace Loving Man is one of the more popular, for me "Don't Lead Me On" is much more subtle which I first heard when a certain Mr Bicknell used to reside in my home town in north wales. A class act who probably deserved more than he got, but maybe that just adds to the romanticism and mystique that makes up our scene. Certainly a hero for me (and that is a term so oft abused, but not in this case) and I'm just very sorry we never got the chance to see him over here, despite the best efforts of a few people I know who tried. RIP Emmanuel and I'm glad you Lead Me On. I hope someone on here passes this thread onto his family and friends over the pond. Sleep tight. Rich

So Called Accusations Against Exisiting Members
Rich Buckley replied to Mike's topic in All About the SOUL
I think it's fine the way it is, as anything else would be too Big Brother and censorial, which I wouldn't want and would stifle interesting debates/revelations. A pain at time for the mods as they do have legal responsibilities, but there is no better way of doing it I'm afraid. I also feel slightly sorry for Soulsearcher (Sharon) in that she has provided her name and so is hardly anonymous. Think your comments Winnie are a bit self righteous saying that nobody appears to know her etc - what is she meant to do when she joins, get 10 recommendations from Soul Sourcers or provide pictorial evidence of her on the dancefloor? Are we turning into the sodding masons? This is meant to be an informative and fun forum not some sort of weird insular society. As with any other member she needs to stick to the rules and fair play, but equally if other members have made threats by PM or email (and I have no clue either way or much interest for that matter whether there's any truth in that or not) then they need to be kept in check too. It should be a level playing field, irrespective of whether you're a "celebrity" of the scene, a regular poster or a newbie. Sometimes on here it gets all a bit too incestuous and self-righteous Rich -
Very sad. Has given me a lot of pleasure over the years and gigged a lot over here and on the mod/scooter ralllies a fair bit. When I was getting into soul and ska his music really lifted me. The soulful side of reggae. Will be sorely missed - RIP fella. Rich

Whilst I did on occasion get my mam to ring up when I had to be in school early (!!) it was I who called in this case! Seem to remember Manship had auctioned one round about the same time and got fairly silly money for it at the time. Class record though and well worth whatever it makes.. Rich
