Ohh, somebody knows his House! Bobby Konders was so great before he turned to reggae! Happy records brought some amazing tunes out. Davina-Don't you want it for example. Some of the new House mentioned here is awfully cheesy..lacks deepness. Pah! Posted all before. I'm outta here and back to my favorite thread. "Ballads". (no House involved)

errrrm. i was in the deep house scene in germany and everyone was in their late 20s and 30s. no drugs and a love for soul and disco. think in london there are places where its no different and the cielo in NY is also populated by an older crowd. actually lots of deep house is very relaxed and downbeat. I know that kenny and todd arent "whistle rave"..just saying that adidas tracksuits and funny hats were a manchester thing whilst in USA the ravers looked like that. i listen to Timmy regisford mixes when I have a cup of tea

Oh my god that is terrible! They might just throw the records in the bin or try and sell them to the nearest 2nd hand record shop! you should probably check if there is any of those in that area. good luck! -

Uuups, just checked the new songs and he really turned "retro". Which sounds pretty good. I liked him in the past as well. Love D'Angelo too. Well, the first 2 Albums. " Brown Sugar" is a Soul milestone!

Oh I wanted to go to Southport next year! Always a great line up. I went to Crossfire 2 weeks back and there the "different rooms" thing was great. I wandered between the RnB room and the Northern room all night. In Middleton the Modern Room was empty..shame but it was. Nice to meet you too x

To be honest, when I go to a Soul do you won't find me in the Modern room. If I wanna hear House or Disco I would go to hear Maurice Fulton or Rahaan and go to nights like Electric Chair in Manchester was..I know I'm kinda contradicting myself here

Ah ok. Still can't really imagine that they started calling it Garage in the UK and not in the USA. Never heard that before..English people can't even say "Garage" properly hahaha

No no, Garage is a term created in the USA . They called it Garage whilst the Paradise Garage was still open...Norman Jay creating the term Garage?? That would be going a bit far. haha

My taste went more in this direction as there isnt much vocal stuff worth mentioning around anymore. Thats just my personal taste though.

I know my shit and I know I don't like newer releases. Too commercial sounding for me. King Street used to be a great label but I don't like it anymore. Yoruba/Osunlade is alright with some releases but mostly i don't like them. Different strokes for different folks (...whatever makes uuuuu happyyy-ten city) I dig Carl Craig.

Thing is after the mid 90s it all went downhill with house. there are a few good ones around but they might be too "deep" for people on here. (parrish, delsin stuff, jovonn, andres etc) can't stand all this brasil influenced crap nowadays..defected label is horrid! I stick to the oldschool.

Oh and please get the "Soul Dictionary" out to explain to all of us what Soul and rare Soul is. Thanks dear. The 15 year thing I don't get at all. What has that to do with anything???
