Hi Chris, The Little Anthony tune shouldn't cost you anymore than £30 but it's tracking one down as they tend to stay put in collections as it is such an awesome tune, my favourite by him, I paid £15 for mine about 15 year ago. Just a hint too improve your searching on the internet the record is by Anthony and The Imperials not Little Anthony, I know it probably won't make any difference but some sites you have to search with greater accuracy. I would say there is very little diference between the promo and issue with the issue probably just a bit harder to find, does anyone know which is harder to find the Atco released issue or the black and silver label Eclipse design, which I assume is a local release prior to Atco/Atlantic picking it up. There is another brilliant release on Eclipse by Harry Deal called 'What Am I Gonna Do', a lot cheaper too. Regards, Alan

The Canadian catalogue must be vast as nearly every day something else is found, my personal collection of canadian 45's consist of:- Alexander Patton - A 'lil loving sometimes - Capitol. Kurt Harris - Emperor of my baby's heart - Apex. Eddie Spencer - If This Is Love (I'd Rather Be Lonely) - ARC. Garnet Mimms - Looking for you - United Artists. Wesley Paige and The Master Three - I've Got To Find Out For Myself - Columbia. and many more especially Motown releases on the white lable that carries the USA release number. Records that I don't posess but I know came out are:- I think all of the Precisions Drew catalogue on Stone. Eddie Parker - Love you baby - Stone. There's a lable called Rio which has many releases connected with Ric Tic amongst other USA small labels. The most astounding release which has turned up in the last 12 months must be the brilliant La Reine La Mar - That's Not The Way To Love - Capitol, I think one of our Soul Source members got it off Ebay, great record and it must be rare. Bobby Paris was originally discussed about a canadian release of 'Personnally', I haven't seen one but I do have this release on German Polydor with a picture sleeve, I showed this to Bobby Paris when he came to promote SWONS in Blackburn a good few years ago now, he said he had no idea it had a German release. I have always loved instrumentals, I would agree with most of the posts re Milton Wright & The Terra Shirma Strings both sides are incredible productions The Gallop and Like a rolling stone which I have featured in my sets in the last year or two. Like alot of posts are saying that instrumentals aren't featured in sets anymore but I don't set my sets out so they don't include so called souless or pop instrumentals if they are in my box and I feel it's right to play it then on the decks it goes, infact last year at the There's That Beat Weekender at Mojacar in Southern Spain I felt the time during my set to play a real classic that doesn't get featured much anymore and I put on Earl Wright Orchestra - "Thumb a ride" - Capitol and the dance floor was crammed and atmosphere was awesome. My personal favourites over the years are:- The Autographs - "Sad Sad Feeling" on Loma & Joker. Al Kent Orchestra - "The way you been acting lately" - Ric Tic. Anglo had one last week for £70 but it was only vg++, I would say more around the £100 in nice condition, great tune, I paid £40 for mine about 15 years ago. Regards Alan

I have found what I believe to be confirmation of the information I was offering about SIR bootleg copies of Bari Track, I mentioned at the time that John Manship would be able to help confirm it one way or the other, I know John posts on here but he probably hasn't read this thread, anyway on John's latest record sales list (list 1039) on the next to last page he has a selection of current auction titles and on there is indeed a copy of Bari Track and the description he mentions that this copy he has for sale has the raised ARCHER stamp in the deadwax which would suggest to me that must be copies that hasn't got the raised ARCHER stamp on it. Hi there, This the story of Doni Burdick's record "Bari Track", this my own recollection and is not from any book or website so there could be inaccuricies.The tune title I believe came from as far I can remember stood for the famous Baritone sax of Mike Terry. Again as far as I remember the record was bootlegged twice, once one Soul Galore which is the one everyone is familiar with, the second bootleg was an exact copy of the Sound Impression Record, "SIR", the way of identifying an original is to look at the run out groove dead wax on the "B" side "I have faith in you" and on an original you will find an "ARCHER" stamp which isn't there on the bootleg. I believe the cheap copies you talk about are these bootlegs. These second bootlegs will be quite obscure now as alot of them were passed off as originals. As far as I know genuine originals have never been that cheap. Again I must repeat these are my personal recollections, we really need someone like John Manship to confirm all this. Great tune and probably up there with "Exus Trek" and "Sidras theme" as my favourite instrumental, I paid £60 for mine back in 1981. hope this helps, Regards, Alan

Hi Bill, The track you are talking about is by The Brothers and it is called "Are you ready for this" and it came out on USA RCA Victor as a single, it also came out the UK on a LP called "Disco Soul" on the People label, I have the LP and there are some great instrumentals on it of popular vocals. There was also a vocal of "Are you ready for this" it is called "Get ready for this" by The Revelation on RSO. Values I would say about £20 - £25 for the single and about £15 for the LP, it has been a popular sound for many years thus the demand for the single has been great which has forced the price up from what I would say is a £15 record.
