  1. Ged, Loren is over this weekend, I can ask him if you don't get anything sorted before then. He is on here as Loren but I think he's only got internet at work since he moved.
  2. That's the answer I'd go with. When I did drink I could cope with/enjoy scooter rallies but you really need to drink to be able to cope with all the drunken idiots you get there. When I first went to all-niters there was no drink, no need either, the music and atmosphere was all you needed. Even with drink available now there still doesn't seem to be the need to drink til you fall down to have fun. I did suggest us going down to the Isle of Wight this year because it was one of my favourite rallies and Dean just laughed and said I wouldn't be able to handle it...
  3. That was good of you to post this up although it relates to public houses and not clubs. I did ask at the Benn Hall when we ran the all-dayers and their responce was; As we were renting the premises, we could allow any age into the venue but anyone under 18 were not allowed in the bar area...
  4. Shocked that anyone would stoop so low as to complain to the venue...
  5. Sat and read ALL of this last night, then went to bed and had a think about it. Got to vote no to children as I did feel uneasy at such a young child at Radcliffe. (wasn't sure if he was there all night tho). On the other hand, there are young adults who fit right in but then I don't class them as children. I didn't go to my first all-niter til I was 18 (I didn't cross my mother) but I sure as hell was desperate to. I still think if the yonug adults (16-18) really wanna go and have adult supervision, then they should be welcomed but children younger than that shouldn't be encouraged to stay up all night (plenty of all-dayer/soul venues out there)...
  6. ...Soz I missed your question Simon, I haven't been on here for a while as it got to the usual boring going round in circles stuff... probably why no one else has answered... I've always thought that young adults should be encouraged as long as they want to be there and not because the parents can't get a babysitter. Lottie has also been to Rugby and didn't look at all out of place. When we had alldays there did seem to be more younger people but I think at all-niters, I would be a little concerned at the very young being there all night. One of our all-niters clashed with my daughters 13th birthday, she was desperate to come along but she sat at the door with me and left by 11pm. I know I wouldn't be comfortable taking her along all night at her age but then every parent does what they think is right.
  7. No, am I being a bit thick, did look on your wall and my pms but cant see anything. I did hear the government are trying to tighten up on notices. I'll pm you... Did sing rather out loud to Candy Staton - Young Hearts on the radio earlier...
  8. ...Ged, you need counselling...
  9. Loved the seedy venues as a youngster but much prefer nice loos etc now, it's a grown-up thing, don't like to slum it anymore... I think if you gave an all-niter a go, you may be pleasantly suprised...it is defo more of a social event now as most can't dance all night...
  10. Ey up Russ, would be good to catch up, might try and get over... shall I bring the sandwiches...
  11. And a big thank you goes out to Chrissie O for doing that and letting us joint as outsiders... (we are only Warwickshire)...
  12. Nice post Matt. Even with the clash and the effect it will have on our numbers, I did find myself feeling sorry for Phil. I think this problem has been bubbling away for a long time and he just seemed to be the poor sod who got both barrels. I don't think there will be a solution as it is a free world and as such everyone and anyone can run a venue if they so wish. and defo good luck to anyone who does coz you will need it IMO...
  13. I think I just live with my rose tinted specs on and try to see the best in people... Phil and I have been e-mailing eack other back and forth, so I can vouch for the apology and I thought we were actually thrashing things out until his wife opened my last e-mail and told me not to bother replying... I feel that this thread has been highjacked and is completely off topic, so I welcomed the fact that we were talking off forum. I think people assumed you were local to an event you were running as that is usually the norm.
  14. ...I just looked at that old thread with Bog Bob doing a bit of research. Quite good at it myself, found his company web-site... https://www.bookemdanno.com/index.asp Comes from County Durham...Suzanne/Carole is that you... maybe he saw a niche in the market...
  15. ...The penny dropped, well spotted Paul... Bob doing a bit of research - Phil Armstrong...
  16. And in that sentence, you have made a very valid point. The clash has split the crowd...
