  1. might make you an offer steve once Ive heard an mp3 of it. cheers, derek
  2. Anybody know what Patience Valentine "You cant tell the good guys / Young Tears" on Real Soul is like? Think its an early 70s jobbie. Scans and/or mp3s appreciated. Cheers, derek
  3. Have noticed a few of these 45s for auction on Ebay recently and wondered whats the score on it? Never heard of the record and was just curious. Are they rare issues - and most importantly is it any good? Can anybody post up an mp3? All the sellers quote it as having a rather large price tag in Manships, was this one of his deliberate mistakes included in his guide? derek Neal Kimble "If it wasn't for the children/ Don't start lying to me" on TRC 1021. Rare issue in mint minus condition in original TRC sleeve. Very high value in Manship.
  4. Seem to think he lived in Bradford after the Bierkeller club he ran closed down. We're probably talking at least 10-15 years ago occassionally used to see him in town and say hello. derek
  5. Anybody want an Ex condition copy of TSU Toronados "Please heart don't break" on Rampart Street? £125 + postage. Off list replies please (PM or email D.Pearson@bradford.ac.uk). Would prefer chq for UK buyers, otherwise Paypal. cheers, derek

  7. Simon - was chatting to Nigel Parker at Middleton recently as he'd come over with Carl Fortnum. I go back a long way with Nigel and over the years must've traded hundreds of records between us. onwards, derek
  8. Aint we humans so bizarre - because Soul Sam is so liked and respected he can get away with putting Michael Proctor on after Margaret Little or whatever. Was his choice brave or ridiculous you decide. I find it fascinating what some can do and others can't. You can imagine the reaction from people on forums if an unpopular DJ had tried this. This aint a pop at Sam (before some get so sensitive) as I respect the man and speak to him regularly at venues. derek
  9. because I care about world poverty; because I care about global climate change; because I care about you; I've dropped the prices on George Perkins to £30 and Jimmy Richards to £20; because I need the money. onwards, derek
  10. As is usual when I finally manage to get a new issue out I sell roughly three quarters of the print run within the first month of release. So if you still want a copy do it sooner than later as the postman calls daily with cheques. Onwards, derek
  11. yeah it was Arnold Blair - but the clever part (I thought) was that Arnold Road was on the left and Blair Road was on the right - it was the combination of the two that made the humour. Names like Brunswick St and Philadelphia Terr are interesting but too obvious. Garland Green in South Belfast does raise a smile though. But can anybody beat Arnold Blair? derek
  12. I hadn't been going out with Miranda long when I said to her "Why don't we go shopping I've got some spare cash tucked away, I'll drive". She was still thinking about what to get at the Trafford Centre as we pulled up outside Les Hare's legendary King Bee record shop. When she'd stopped crying she saw the funny side of it. On the way back whilst driving down the A6010 she said "I've been waiting years to show this to someone who'd get it". She pointed it out as we got close and I laughed out loud. As if I needed any confirmation at all I knew then exactly why I live with her. Can you find it? derek If nobody gets it within the next few hours (as the clarity isnt spot on) I'll send in another jpeg of it that makes it a bit easier to find. can anybody find a better one?
