  1. Fab record. There are a couple of soundclips out there, one considerably slower than the other. Did jocks soup it up years ago to suit Wigan era dancefloors?
  2. Certainly not in my case, some of them I've sold for considerably less than what I paid for them. If on top of that you get rogered backwards at the post office, then you're onto a loser, big time. I only realised when I got home, so totally my fault. I was charged E27.20 for 4 packages. 3 of them contained 1 record & one contained 3 records. Too late to check now 'cos they went via standard post. Whinge, whinge, whinge...
  3. Every time I see one of these I roar. I sold mine to Kev Draper for 30 quid at the 100 Club in 1994... as he was on his way out the door!! Good luck!! Macca

I've since acquired a cleaner copy, so this one's up for grabs. Paypal accepted. Prices are in sterling. High resolution scans available on request. Money back if not satisfied with grading, needless to say! Gracias amigos!! Macca
  5. mine is yellow & black. just came out like that on the scan...
  6. I remember it for the wrong reasons. I sold off a load of very good records there, all 'priced to sell' (sorry pete), as it were. I literally gave them away in retrospect. Never mind, I have to say that though I only went once, I thoroughly enjoyed myself. It was 1992/3 & I'd just moved to Spain, thinking... what use am I gonna have for these old records over there? How wrong I was!! Was this the membership card?
  7. I think that the fact that he was perceived as gay is irrelevant. I mean who cares? What is deplorable is the act of violence itself. Was it really a case of, to quote Lou Reed, hey white boy, what you doin' up town? I thought Footsee was 1975... M
  8. Why do a lot of people hate James Coit? The arrangement, the vocal, the sentiments of the song?

    The 'q'

I sold the first one, a VG+ about six months ago for around 200US. Top sound, not everybpdy's taste though. Big on the psych scene here too...
  10. Thanks chaps. Pretty lousy boot by the sounds of it. Mate of mine has just shelled out 20 qid for one.
  11. What are the principle differences between the real ones & the boots? Cheers, M.
  12. 1. I don't think it's crap. 2. Duffy is a good looker, I definitely wouldn't say no. 3. She's got a good voice & the track isn't bad. 4. I've heard worse in the last 35 years. 5. You lot need to see a doctor. 6. I'll get my coat.
  13. :-) Being a discreet sort of chappie, I erred at mentioning you in dispatches, what? What's Boro? Sounds so terribly plaebian. I bet Ernie Wise never called it Boro.
  14. I sold one not so long ago for 50 poinds. Great track, great label & the flip's a killer too.
  15. I'd like to know what the the continental lot think about this. They seem to welcome the old duffer brigade & they still hire the odd 'mature' British deejay for their well established events. The Euroyeye Gij³n, Soul For Real Bilbao, S.O.U.L Weekender Gij³n, Magic Soul Weekender Madrid & SS member Albert Petit's Valencia All-Nighters in Spain all spring to mind.
  16. Their 'Have Love Will Travel' is better than Richard Berry's too. I've just said something heretical, but what the hell...
  17. You mean feets on floors Reg :-) Tables & chairs should be banned. No rest for the wicked etc; M
  18. Interesting thread. When I first attended all-nighters at the age of 15, most of the older guys were probably no older than 25, at the very most. Had we been surrounded by people our parents' age, we simply wouldn't have gone, would we? The vast majority of people attending UK venues are approaching 50, some approaching retirement age or over, in some cases. I visited the 100 Club two years ago with two Spanish friends who are my youngest nephew's age 26. The first question they asked was 'why are all these people sitting down?' What are the tables for?' Record dealers, I replied somewhat unconvincingly. Two thirds of the crowd were sitting down, unthinkable at a Sp nish gig. Over here, I'm in a clear minority & I feel my bloody age, surrounded by folk aged 25-35. I would hardly consider 30 something to be middle aged either, unless life expectancy in Brown's Britain has taken a tumble. I understand these guys' concerns a 100% & say go ahead on, create those venues & take it to river.
  19. I've obviously missed out the cheese front then. LR & other stuff, like Cobblestone, used to have me run off the dancefloor well sharpish. But then I've danced to Flamma Sherman for gawd's sake. I blame the medicine of course. :-)
  20. I went to the KGB just once, but being a st.ives nut I wasn't that impressed. My only memory of it is buying Let Her Go - Otis Smith on Perception and leaving my brand new leather bomber jacket in the cloakroom there. I only realised when I got to the station that it wasn't on me back. Had to walk all the way back to the KGB, missing the train. I remember Terry Samson as a curly haired, famiable sort of chap, actually welcomed us at the door, asking where we were from etc; Don't know whether it was PR or what, but it was appreciated at the time, especially after having st.ives wrenched from us.
