  1. You'll have to put Clarky on first, as these days he has to get away early to get the breakfasts sorted. Col

Just prove the point that blokes can do more than 1 thing at a time, Winnie greets his invisible mate, protects his pint, whilst whistling Dixie. col.
  3. In those day it was common for some promoters to list DJs they had no intention of booking. Remember giving Clarky a lift to Stroud one snow filled day & he was bemoaning the fact that he was (according to ads placed on B&S and Echoes) supposed to be in 4 other places that night. The promoters hadn't even bothered to contact him. Col.
  4. Sounds like a good result for you. But you should probably get them checked over. Colin Bee pressed up this and the pressings were very difficult to tell apart from the original. Heard stories about several people getting duped at Wigan. Col.
  5. Where is this getting played out? Col.
  6. I think this was def. recorded by a lone Willie. Can't believe I just wrote that. Have the LP in front of me still covered up as the Cautions. I suppose I could throw caution to the wind and try de-frocking it. Didn't know it was played at the Mecca. I should also say I have no idea how I acquired the record. Col. Ps have a good time Saturday at your 'pop star' wedding.....
  7. One of the things I like about the scene today, compared with the past is the ease in which you can pick up new tunes. Case to point, a mate has just dropped off a couple of dvds with a load of mp3s on. But, in amongst there are a couple of real comic gems. Dena Barnes - surely some ones having a laugh? Helium filled vocals over Duke Browners backing track. Ann Sexton - having a bad day? No wonder she was poorly received at Wigan Anybody match these - sound files appreciated. Col.
  8. The moment Dave Rimmer became Disco Dave.

  10. Thanks for the info Gareth - much appreciated. I think you are right the lead singer is def Willie Feaster. On first plays this does sound like Willie & West. But after a couple of plays I can see where Dave Abbott is coming from. There are 2 versions of this record. The Willie & West version is flat by comparison. The version I've posted up is def. more uptempo & manic. It also has added sax breaks. I don't know how to post up for comparison the version by Willie & West from www.soulclub.org/ But its def. different. Col. The version I've posted up is the best version
  11. Advised by the man in the know its Willie & West (also know as Willie & the Magnificents?) This track is off an album. Is there a single with a different version? Any one know who covered it up? Is it now fairly common? Thanks for looking. Col.
  12. Mixed thoughts on it. Like it in some places but not others. Sounds better after a couple of plays. Col PS well impressed by Craig's avitar though. That if I'm not mistaken is the legendary 'Johnny Seven' A true weapon to behold.
  13. The smart money says Dan would like to keep it a secret. Col
  14. "Think of all the beautiful records (or shoes!!) you could buy with that!" Not many records, according to me. Not many shoes, according to my wife
  15. Next night Wednesday 6th July
  16. All depends on numbers logging in & disposable income. If its just a few people every day, then no, unless you've got money to burn. Col.
  17. Thanks for that Dave, but link (assuming thats what it is) on main page to cover ups is dead. Not all bad news though, link to radio section is good - Now listening to a good (mellow) set from Keb Darge in Japan Back to The Cautions I'll try & MP3 it if its not obvious. Col.
  18. Hi Karen Regret can't answer the question. But whilst cruising your site just noticed fantastic photo. Reminds me of that scene in the Blues Brothers - "I Have Seen The Light" Keep at it. Col.
  19. Cautions - Keep Away From Me Baby. Any one got any info on it? Thanks. Col.
  20. You do now Richard. Col
  21. Saw a car plate with TMG 501 on, which I really liked. But I'm fond of a lot of things tacky. Col.
  22. The worrying thing Karen, is that in general I don't worry about anything. And def. not about any of the old tosh I post up here But thanks for being supportive. Col
  23. No, its just an interest of mine.
  24. Maybe I should have put a wider selection of records up. Too Late. Col.
