  1. Regret Ken, I don't know it. Do you have an MP3? Dave, Cheers for comments on Margie Joseph. Always good to get some feed back ... pos or neg! If its neg, at least I'll get a good argument Regret not heard - Felton Burke on Delite. Do you have an MP3?
  2. Thats excellent. Don't want to overly negative, so I'm gonna leave it there. Col ps See you at Luton & maybe Lightwater the following week?
  3. Thanks. Notice Mace is often on here, but his do is rarely plugged. Dave, I appreciate you may well be a mate of yours - so it may be difficult for you to be objective. What the hell, just post away anyway. Col.
  4. Cheers for that John - hope the DJing went well sat nite (have sent you a PM) Should have mentioned the above tracks were "You Didn't Say A Word" & "I Can't Change" What about this for an alt version of "Lets Stay Together" For all those people watching this thread, but not commenting let me say it would be a better thread if you chipped in. Col
  5. Got handed a Bidds rare soulnite cd a while back. Really impressed with it. I think they are Derby based. Have you been? Would you recommend the nite? Col.
  6. Fair comments. I agree you guys kept it going whilst the majority of my southern compatriots went off in search of Jazz Funk.....Lonnie Liston Smith & Dexter Wansel. God, I hate that crap sooooo much. Col. Caister classics.....my arse.
  7. Dont worry too much, he's tough as old boots.......after alls said & done, he's a southerner. Col.
  8. Hi Andy Few details posted above in "Bicknells Got A Parrot" thread regards Col.
  9. Ever been surprised to find that there's another version of your favourite track, thats at least as good. Here's a couple of alternative versions for starters. All comments appreciated, but mp3s are much better........otherwise its as much fun as a trip to the library. Col.
  10. Never counted the amount of dos, but attendances are very low down south at the mo. Just back from Rimini & estimate there were about 60 people out there from south of the Watford Gap. Which is sort of ironic, as some dos down south only get 60 in. I'm not knockng the scene down here, its just an observation. Col. Very few people from up North (IMO) at Rimini. Maybe you guys have it on a plate? I've always thought that Northern Soul was wasted on northerners Over to you.......
  11. Just brilliant.......loved it Kitsch at its best. Now where to eat? maybe...... The kitsch kitchen... with aqua-and-white gingham curtains and rubber duck-yellow walls painted in a fried-egg motif Col .............welcome to my world.
  12. Also some good pics on Karens web site https://www.thesoulgirl.com/ Col.
  13. I wondered why you threw that in. But I think Pete-S is off the site at the mo. Something to do with the freebasing debate on the London Outrage. Not sure if its temporary or permanent. Col.
  14. I didn't understand a word of that. col.
  15. No it isn't. Its about rare soul, northern soul, modern, r&b. Col.
  16. Cheers for sticking the track up Gareth. Just brilliant. Noticed its also available on Goldmine's Rare Soul Heaven CD, which Ive just received. Its probably the stand out track, but there's an awful lot of other good rare soul on there. Col. ps Good to see you at the Rocket.
  17. A couple of mates (Derek & Alan) have opened a new rare soul shop in Aldershot, Hants. Its stocked with a couple of thousand rare soul tunes (mostly 7") They are open on a Thursday, Friday & Saturday. Call first though 01252 333 858 or e-mail the soulmine@fsmail.net They have a couple of decks in there (plus headphones) so you can work your way through the stock. The opening on Sat 9.7.05 was a typically understated affair, champagne in pint glasses. Nice one lads. Good luck. Col.
  18. Got it for sale on a UK demo if anyones interested.
  19. Picked it up a couple of months ago. Less than a tenner. Awesome. Col
  20. I missed the show but am reliably informed by mates that it was excellent. Maybe one group for Prestatyn some day. Who knows.........? Col.
  21. If you don't know this, you are in for a bit of a treat. Col
  22. Who is Lew Stanley? Col.
  23. On second thoughts, not 2 of the most cheerful records I could have posted. But, they will take your mind off things. Col.
  24. Evening Dan, Don't know if these 2 fit in your category of being cheap. But on an awful day they may help to brighten things up a bit. Col.
  25. Less excuses, more results please. "malleable"......what sort of word is that? Have you swallowed a dictionary, or are you just making words up now? Col. ps Save up all the fees from your DJ spots, go buy yourself an I-pod then you won't need cds.
