  1. Hi Charlie Regret can't explain what stomping is in word format, but can advise (Ken) that stomping & shuffling are a million miles apart. Stomping went out went out with ark, cos it was just basic & didn't evolve. Shuffling, now thats a different matter. Very few people can do it properly but when they do, its a joy to watch. Col.
  2. Quality post Brett Last proper bit of acrobatics I did was also at Prestatyn. Somewhat discouraged though by hecklers suggestions that St John Ambulance be in attendance. Almost went for it again at last 100 Club. Fortunately Wendy was at hand to point out the error of my ways. Col. Wendy, have sent you PM
  3. Oh I think they are starting to get used the general concept of admission prices for them going up!
  4. Was this a Les McCutcheon production? Col.
  5. Iain Stewart did really well out of Jay Boy. Popped in to their stores & picked up handfuls of demos, lates 70s. Don't know how he did it, but I think they were just happy to see the back of them. Col.
  6. Free single was Devonnes - Doin The Gittin Up Mayberry Movement - I See Him Making Love to You (Rework of Anderson Bros/Trieste track) Sorry can't tell you what he played - too busy gassing. Col.
  7. Excellent nite. Had never heard Keith Money play before, so wasn't too sure what all the fuss was about. Can confirm he played a couple of blinding sets. Col.
  8. I thought your interest in modern stopped at the 'Art Deco' period. Col.
  9. Will use any occassion to get 'dressed up' in something sparkly. Col
  10. Oh no it doesn't!...........Oh yes it does...............Oh no it doesn't! Col
  11. Last year I was surprised to see Wayne Hemmingway behind the decks at an all-dayer. Who?
  12. Not just trying to nudge up a bit closer to a 1000 posts then Simon? Col.
  13. Look Ady, I've told you once & that should be enough. I'm not doing it. Col.
  14. Well I hate to be the one to disagree, but: 1. The vocalist is singing flat, too far back in the mix. He also sounds like Tom Jones. 2. The backing track is dreadful, it starts off boring and ends up something like "There Was A Time" which is probably my least favourite rare soul record after "Scratchy" Col.
  15. You would be spot on there. Just picked up a copy last week.
  16. It may be northern, but it ain't soul. Quite unacceptable.
  17. If you collect British its supposed to be the equivalent of the Holy Grail. Went on Manships auction for 200+ recently. Its a souless crap record. Col.
  18. Look fwd to meeting you sometime. I know we are going to get on well. Col.
  19. Dave Flynn has the date and time every train left the station.
  20. This was covered up as 'The Magic Tones' Can anybody add further?
  21. totally. I was going to book him for an all - niter. I've just cancelled the all - niter.
  22. Just had this discussion with my mate Simon (Rids) tonite in the pub. I stand corrected.
  23. Really interesting post. Just out of interest Mark, why do you want to be a DJ? For most people its solely on the basis of kudos. Respect is not something you earn by playing vinyl. I've tried it and don't like it much. For a start off you need to be sober. You're also missing the opportunity to socialise. Col.
  24. For anybody unaware of the Al Green track - its awesome.
  25. Did you change into them on the way there?
