  1. To a bloke in Thailand.........how do I know these things?
  2. Hi Steve, I was doing a search on a completly un-related subject & came across this site https://www.loveshack.org/forums/index.php Its for sensitive souls & covers relationships and stuff like that Thought it might give you a laugh Col
  3. Thanks for that. Mate has been strictly northern soul up to now. Its good when people suddenly drop their barriers and discover it didn't all stop in 69. Col.
  4. Not too sure but ans to original post, but one thing that makes me smiles is when you get a couple of lads on the dance floor arms stretched out belting out the lyrics to Jan Jones "Im an independent woman, anything you want to do boy its alright with me!" It just tickles me. But its ok when I do it! Col.
  5. Nah, stick around. Enjoyed reading your comments, mostly a load of old tosh, but still enjoyable to read. As mentioned before I enjoy the site, but would like to see more prople active on it. I don't know if the odd expletive would put some one off or not. I put a record up for people to comment on the other day and was interested in whether people liked it or not. 40 downloads & not one comment on it - well only by Ian and he doesn't have a sound card! Thats the issue for me - how to get more people contributing comments. Not the odd expletive. Col.
  6. Posting this for a mate. Any ideas on artist, title or availability? Cheers Col.
  7. Dunno that one. But i do like 'Where's Spot?' Yes, whatever big boy. Going back to Steve's orig point, all I'd say is that I put a premium on my spare time. When it comes to music, I appreciate knowing if its top notch and whats f***ing crap. After a while you get to appreciate who's got similar tastes. Thts how it works for me.
  8. He was doing very well, without your help!
  9. Your reply was both witty & informative. It just shows what you can do, when you really put your mind to it Steve! Keep up the good work. Col. ps You read me like a book
  10. That just sucks!! Actually I can see your point, but I'm going to have to diasagree with it. SS works best for me when its both witty & informative. I like to read posts with strong opinions for & against the subject. Heaven forbid that we should all either politely concur or defer. Col.
  11. Have heard Latin Northern played out before & not enjoyed it. But recently came across this track & thought I'd whack it up here to see if anybody liked it. You need to play it all the way through, as its err....different. Enjoy, or not. Col.
  12. How about the Chesterfields. A record so bad they couldn't be bothered to finish the production.
  13. I suppose that would make you Blakey
  14. With the recent increase in moderators, I'm hoping to get one all to myself
  15. Both George Hobson & Oxford Nights are absolute garbage. Paula Parfitt is a quirky but good pop record. Jan Jones loved it for 20 years
  16. All the best threads that I start contributing to get pulled
  17. Only the names have been changed tro protect the guilty.. One of my mates Bert is not allowed out to all-niters by his partner. Some minor bad behaviour in the past. But he is allowed to go and watch soul artists in concert. So everytime we do an all-niter its agreed that we've really gone to see the O'Jays or whoever & apparently we book into a hotel. Just to make it more interesting, he also fabricates a little story. Last time we were all out on a normal social event, Bert says "if my wife asks anything about last week-end, you had to share a hotel bed with Ernie" I looked confused & was further advised that there had been a mix up with the beds at our imaginary hotel. Apparently he'd got a bed ok, but I had to share! Why he'd made up that particular story I have no idea, but thats what happens when you choose your mates on entertainment value!
  18. Surely not .....the Al Wilson - Now I Know What Love Is Col.
