  2. No.1 at the moment is Jimmy Ruffin, I'll Never Let You Get Away. TMG 922 Only just found it, brilliant. Should be able to pick it up for a tenner. Col.
  3. A lovely bit if Drum N Bass.......with a superb vocal. You really didn't think that I was going to post an instr. did you? Barbar Lynn track new to me. Sound like whoever put the Nicole Willis track together, listened to this first. What you think? Col Barbara_Lynn___Alt_Mix.mp3
  4. That would certainly make sense. Col. When outiders start looking into the NS scene I'm pleasantly reminded of this line from Fawlty Towers..... "There's enough material here for an entire conference," mused by the psychiatrist as he observes the baffling phenomenon known as Basil Fawlty.
  5. Thanks for replies chaps. Good work there John, much appreciated. Steve G I think you need a holiday! Col. I'll be round to fix you later......
  6. Cheers for reply, I'm seeing a wider picture now. As I haven't experienced one of the dos that you mention , I can't comment further. Venues down here are very few & far between & do have to be supported. The previous week-end there was nothing local. Last Friday, there were 7 of us having a beer in a pub in Aldershot discussing our proposed saturday night dos - 2 went to Oxford, 2 went to Banbury, 2 went to Weston SM & 1 went to Brighton! We have to travel feckin miles a lot of the time so generally pick venues carefully & don't come across the dos you mention. Col
  7. I disagree entirely with your post which is quite frankly narrow minded in the extreme. There are people in my local area that run their own dos & they are far from muppets. They are friendly knowledgable people who have loved their rare soul for 20 odd years. The reason they book halls, hire the equpment & risk losing their money is for the love of it. Your statement has really naffed me off. Try turning up at one of our local dos and calling the promoter a muppet, it would be unpleasant. Col.
  8. Nice one Steve. I'll be giving that a listen. Nice to see shrinking violet Soul Diva has finally found her voice. Col. PS I will be celebrating MY birthday at Eastleigh on 17th June. If you're not up to much on that night Debs, why don't you pop down?
  9. But he was way ahead of his time with this quote: "The political and commercial morals of the United States are not merely food for laughter, they are an entire banquet" A. Gent-Provocateur.
  10. Don't trust statistics. Ever. Somebody once said there are statistics, more statistics & damned lies. Brentford at No.7 thats a joke. There's only 1 soulie nearby & he lives in Ealing! I doubt there has ever been a full on northern night in Brentford.
  11. Cautionary advice on fornicating with reptiles... "Oh shut up, silly woman," said the reptile with a grin "You knew damn well I was a snake before you brought me in"
  12. Not too many modern shufflers about, but this fits the bill. Excellent tune until about three quarters of the way through & some guitar playing homicidal maniac ruins it. Any body aware of an un-polluted version or can anybody fix it? Col 16_King_Moses___I_ve_Got_This_Feeling.mp3
  13. If you look at my first post Col they were for sale. I said serious offers only and ended up with time waster e-mails. I wouldn't call links to my auctions "a waist of time". But sitting here reading & replying to your post is another matter
  14. Yeah, def agree with that one. Whilst we are still on a 'things' vibe, remember Luther's advice "The Best Things In Life Are Free"
  15. Always been a big fan of Joe, but don't really know that one? Are the lyrics as good as his seminal classic..... Three nights ago I was at a disco Man, I wanted to bump, I was rarin' to go And this big fat woman, bumped me on the floor She was rarin' to go, that chick was rarin' to go Man she did a dip, almost broke my hip She was gettin' down, that chick was gettin' down She wanted to bump some more, but I told her, no You done knocked me down once You done knocked me down once Said, if you want to dance Find you a big fat man Ya'll both can get on down Ya'll both can get on down, huh I ain't gonna bump no more with no big fat woman I ain't gonna bump no more with no big fat woman I ain't gonna bump no more with no big fat woman I ain't gonna bump no more with no big fat woman Lord, I ain't gonna bump no more with no big fat woman ".............breaks it up a bit!" I ain't gonna bump no more with no big fat woman I ain't gonna bump no more with no big fat woman I ain't gonna bump no more with no big fat woman Somebody take her She's too big for me She'll knock me down She came over to me, snatched me out of my seat She wanted to get on down, still wanted to get on down I told her to go on and leave me alone I ain't gettin' down You done hurt my hip once I ain't gonna bump no more with no big fat woman I ain't gonna bump no more with no big fat woman I ain't gonna bump no more with no big fat woman I ain't gonna bump no more with no big fat woman Lord, I ain't gonna bump no more with no big fat woman I ain't gonna bump no more with no big fat woman I ain't gonna bump no more with no big fat woman I ain't gonna bump no more with no big fat woman Somebody take her, I don't want her She done hurt my hip, she done knocked me down Done hurt my hip, she done knocked me down Somebody take her, I don't want her Say, Leroy, you can have this one, dude This big fat woman, dude I don't want her
  16. If you're offering something for sale in the sales section, it should IMO actually be for sale. A link to e-bay is waisting peoples time. Col.
  17. But this is the best advice of all time.......... 14_Archie_Bell___Don_t_Let_Love_Get_You_Down.mp3
  18. Very good mate..........loads of tittering in the Smith household. Currrently listening to Patience Valentine, she also has loads of good advice......
  19. Hi Rachel Forgot you you were ex Fleet Pond Hoped to meet you at Prestatyn, alas not to be - i blame that rubbish southern chalet mate of yours...... Col
  20. Nice work there Ganche! I've often (well at times in the past 25 years) thought (well actually considered) cleaning the inside of my house. Fortunately its never really needed it. Col
  21. Actually i've been annoying people on trains today. More of that later. Seriously though, thanks Mike. Col.
  22. As someone of limited practical experience I was recently contemplating (as part of my next get rich scheme) erecting a block of flats on marsh land next to Fleet Pond. Luckily I heard the attached song.......... Anything else out there I should be aware of? Col. 19_Gwen_and_Rae___Build_Your_House_On_A_Strong_Foundation.mp3
  23. Shooting from the hip there Flo.
