  1. I have mixed views on it. Sometimes it was spot on, but what often ruined it for me was some of the DJ spots - which could be truly awful. Col.
  2. I think a lot of people were collectively & simultaneously hit on the head by small meteorites on 31.12.69. Net result......Groundhog Day. Col
  3. If you just stick to your 6Ts, you'll end up with an aged & stale scene that nobody under 35 will be interested in joining.
  4. Thanks for replies. Looks like a few other people agree its good. 50 downloads in an hour. Not bad for Thursday morning. Col
  5. Make Money Fast...in 3 easy steps. 1 Identify this tune. 2 Sell it to me for a reasonable price 3 Err thats it
  6. Thats ironic. A couple of girls that I know were locked out. They wrote to KR & he offered them a years free subscription to the mag!
  7. Don't you just want a refund of your money? Has that been offered to anybody?
  8. Thanks Steve.
  9. I didn't follow the whole Whitby thread. Can you tell me who Snowy is? What the £1000 refers to? Where the RNLI come into it? Thanks
  10. You can listen to a couple of JR tracks that he recorded for the 'banana splits' here https://www.toontracker.com/bsplits/bsplitsra.htm
  11. Really? I find the whole thing a bit too trippy.
  12. Lots of DJs don't use the mike because they are nervous. It really is that simple.
  13. Personally I prefer boots. The perceived pitch of a sound is just the ear's response to frequency, ie, for most practical purposes the pitch is just the frequency. Pitch is a term used to describe the frequency of sound waves. The normal range of human hearing is from about 20 Hz to 20 000 Hz. And thus I can pick them up much better with my hearing aid.
  14. Don't forget Phil & Tomos contribution to dancing. Could women do it better in hi-viz waiscoats & shorts........I doubt it.
  15. Ref above video.......can see why they slowed down dancers, but would be nice to also see it at normal speed. Anybody able to sort?
  16. Whats Sophies Choice? At school we only learnt Hobson's Choice, which is a just depressing. Sophies choice sounds much better!
  17. Brilliant night. But saw her a year later at a country club and she went all cabaret. Voice was distorted - Disaster!
  18. Just one point of dissension Dave. One of the backing singers was male, which we all thought a little odd. It was a truly awesome performance. The atmosphere prior to the concert was like a cup final - the crowd chanting "1 Way Out" On top of that I actually managed to pull a girl from Widnes. I wonder where 'Ava The Raver' is now? Col
  19. Good to see some people off the fence
  20. What do you suggest........some sort of trap door
  21. Yeah but the Temps did go a bit wibbly/wobbly in the 70s with their "psychedelic soul" At the same time the 4 Tops were churning out stuff like this Would love a good argument, but I'm actually sitting on the fence with regard to this one. Four_Tops___Just_Can_t_Get_You_Out_Of_My_Mind.mp3
  22. Actually we do have one of those down here. Knocks drinks out of peoples hands with kung fu kicks.
  23. Maybe Pete Smith could do a better link? Thanks Pete!
  24. Sometime back a list was produced in a mag (maybe in a Motown one) of the rarest ever Motown singles. Any body got an up to date list? Do the non soul rare Motown records still sell for big money? From memory the only record I recognised was on Gordy - Bob Kayli - Hold On Pearl. Which I'd previously owned and sold for peanuts. It was a comedy record - bit like Benny Hill. Cheers for looking. Col.
  25. I think you shouldn't be so judgemental about other peoples dancing. Its a personal thing. Why critisce somebody who's just having a good time?
