  1. I can't add that to the poll at this stage, maybe one of the moderators can?
  2. Never heard of it.
  3. I didn't really expect everyone to agree, but hey its my poll
  4. Assuming that we can all agree Wigan was the most important venue to the scene, what was the second most important venue?
  5. Cos its an absolute crock of shite
  6. Sounds are more than useful, I'd say essential. In fact don't generally visit sites that don't post sound files. The sound files on your site work well & layout is clean. Site is easy to navigate & quick to load
  7. Anybody know if 'Of Hopes & Dreams & Cobblestones' is actually sung in the record?
  8. Keith Woon?
  9. Personally I blame my mate Kyp from Nottingham. It was his idea to start this thread & he came up with the titles
  10. The Friday teaser...... Northern soul tunes that don't contain the words from the title in the lyrics. I'll start the ball rolling. Bobby Hutton - Lend A Hand Bobby Hebb - Love, Love, Love.
  11. Bit like I feel watching England play football then. Except thats 90 mins.
  12. So it would have been quality not quantity BTW Cheers for posting the clip. Hadn't heard this before.
  13. Eddie Floyd was excellent, but was first on the bill which to most people on here would seem strange, but I guess we don't live in the real world? Pauline Black has an amazing voice, (more jazzy than soulful IMO). Much of the material chosen didn't suit her voice. Geno Washington is entertainment! If you can catch the tour somewhere, I'd recommend it.
  14. Went to see the 'This Is Soul' revue last night in Camberly. Eddie Floyd, Pauline Black & Geno Washington Packed venue & some great performances, but slightly odd in places. But on the whole great night out, not sure where its off to next?
  15. 1. Marvin Gaye - Rare & Unreleased 2. America's Most Wanted vol.1 (Malaco) 3. David Ruffin - The Unreleased Album Beat that.......
  16. Thanks for replies chaps, only just got around to checking I-tunes Some amazing stuff there. First couple I played were David Ruffin - I Want You Back & Natural Four - Hanging Onto A Lie Excellent
  17. They were noted as they wore pegs and they were smelly.
  18. OOh thats a relief. Thought he'd posted in 2008.
  19. I liked it better was when he was banned.
  20. Maybe the problem was with me & not Anita Baker. To be fair everybody else seemed to appreciate her. Look fwd to catching up sometime soon Gareth.
  21. Anybody on here a fan of itunes? I received a £10 voucher and need your help to spend the money wisely.....(that'll be a first) Looked in on itunes when it first started and it was all a bit m.o.r. not to my taste. Now its been up & running a couple of years there must be a few quality tunes. Anything I shouldn't be without? Cheers Col.
  22. I also had tickets to a play, but turned up the day after the last night. It was a tragedy.
  23. I fell asleep listening to Anita Baker at Wembley.
  24. Will give it a spin saturday night as Bisley, so long as Ivor doesn't play it first
