  1. Cheers Steve, I heard Stewart Ames off a CD(Backrop) I bought and thought the track was terrible. Each to his own Eh! By the way are you the Steve C who runs the northern nights in Pompey? Worst tracks? I was at a do once and the DJ played Chapter 5 One in a Million and said it was the best version. I had to disagree and play Maxine. I still hate Nightwatch "Lips To Your Heart" even though I havn't heard it for years. KTF
  2. Monitors "Share A little Love", or Kim Weston "I'm Still Loving You" definitely do it for me.
  3. While waiting for this weeks installment of All Singing etc. and after reading Stuart Maconies Autobiography, I thought I would mention something he talks about quite often. When he first started doing the series and he started to talk about value/cost of northern sounds, he commented that he once paid £8 for Cochise. While reading the aformentioned book he states that this was in 1975. I bought Cochise in 1975 and it was about 75p as a new release. Did it come out on Shrine or something originally???!!! It would also apear that he only lasted a few months as a "souly" before finding another fashion. Didn't we call them sightseers at the time? Still I don't mind listening to the show and he doesn't seem a bad bloke. KTF Paul
  4. It used to be "The Trip", now it's "Walk With A Winner"
  5. With a link to another current thread. Could it be Pete Lawsons first EMI disc from the early 70s as a memorial to him? RIP Pete
  6. Pete was a good mate of mine back in the early to mid '70s when I live in Ormskirk. I remember at one of the Burnley Mecca All dayers in 74/75 me and Gossy were taking the piss out of a certain Blackpool DJ giving it some "hero worship" he turned round to us with a smile on his face which quickly dropped as he said "Oh! your Pete Lawsons mates aren't you". He was a great guy and is surely missed. All the best Pete RIP Paul Rimmer
  7. I've noticed over the last few weeks since I found this site that Al Wilsons "The Snake" gets a bit of stick. When I first went to St. Maries Youth club disco in Southport in 1971 the Snake was my favorite sound(I was only 13) so there is a place in my soul for it. On the other hand, Johnny Vonelli needs shooting. Also as a non attender within the scene for many years, what is Steve Flannigan contributing. I'd rather hear good ol' Al Wilson than him. And who is Stuart Ames? What are the worst tracks ever played?
  8. I've posted a few on this thread as Pompeysoul but now I'm a member so I'll continue. Back in about 74 I found a load of the Bob & Earl B&C(With My Little Girl Etc) albums on a market in Liverpool for 89p. Sold 1 per week at Wigan for about a fiver. Also When they started playing "The Night" I had seen a copy at my local shop in Ormskirk for 25p another fiver on Saturday night!
