  1. I would say "Jumping At The Go Go" Detroit Sound. Just sold a copy of the album to Alan Rhodes. Don't know if it is THE Alan Rhodes though. Just noticed, Post No. 4 by Fluff says it was the 2nd record played at the Casino Paul
  2. It wasn't actually ready for the first night, so they gave it out about 2 months later. I first went to about the 7th, and managed to get a first allnighter badge!. It was definately yellow, and I'm sure it said right on russ & kev. Strange because I don't believe kev was at the first one. There is a copy one going round, that strangely says right on russ & ken?. Mine were all stolen by my ex mrs little sister, don't know what she did with them. Looking on ebay, they go for quite a bit now. Paul
  3. £6.00 but it had a factory sample sticker on it. Paul
  4. RIP Stanley Paul
  5. Not holding my breath. But what a track. some people on here rave about "Stronger Than Me" I just don't get that, but "I'm Standing", Awsome, it's all about taste. Paul
  6. I'm clearing out the collection and this was one pushed to the front by your post https://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?Vie...E%3AIT&rd=1 It has a Factory sample sticker that someone tried to remove. I don't expect much though. I would like a UK original though. When I rebuild the collection via a lottery win. Paul
  7. Purely as a scientific experiment, I'll puit one on ebay tonight. Paul
  8. I was listening to it the other day, I quite like it for what it is, and if people didn't lnow the singer I believe they would like it even more. By the way, is the sample from Del Shannons Runaway? Paul
  9. I seem to remember him at the Mecca alldayer one Sunday where I watched, and then at Wigan I think the follwoing week. When I didn't. I was never a lover of live acts at allnighters. I do remember at the Mecca, everyone was shouting "I Ain't Going Nowhere" to him, as it was pretty big at the time. I don't think he did it , I just remember him replying "Neither Am I" Don't remember if he had any drummers at all That would have been '75. I might have also been in the colourful characters photos Mel Paul
  10. The bird with baggies & pigtails was probably Anne Rogers from Shevington. Also In it were "Kipper" Rimmer(no relation) from newton Lee Willows, Jethro & Kim from Wolves & I don't know the rest. If I'm wrong sorry, it was a few weeks ago. Some of then never resurfaced because of the shame. Paul
  11. I think Billy Harner did another version of I struck It Rich, which was the version palyed at wigan, an the one I perfer. Len Barrys "You Baby" also get spins although it is a bit like "1, 2, 3," part 2. Also "It's a Crying Shame" and many others. Great Blue Eyed Soul. Billy Stewart On the other hand is a very different kettle of fish with many great tracks some like "Secret Love" off the "Teaches Old Standards New Tricks" album. Best tracks are "Summertime" & "Old Man River" + many others "Count Me Out" in particular. In my experience, anything by Billy Stewart is Brill. Paul
  12. Sugar Pie Honey by the Promatics. Bought this on an emidisc with Buch Baker Working At The Go Go on the other side. I actually prefer the promatics. Possibly because it is the least played. I think the Whispers remember me is a bit lacklustre. But that's opinions for you Paul OK I was slowest on the draw with that one. Was I the only one that couldn't remember the label though.
  13. So many good tracks both written & performed very sad news. Also I believe part of my avatar. RIP Patrice. paul
  14. No, I'm at Portsmouth now & out of the navy. They are all my top records Doing OK . Great to hear from you. Paul
  15. Dave, all this talk about Chico & Karen & Pete ,Mark etc. Do you remember the nights in Plymouth at the Circus Tavern, and Karen & petes Wedding I think the evening do was in the Grand Hotel on the Hoe Great Times Bad news about Kev the other week Paul(Jimmy) Rimmer
  16. Same sort of thread, different record. Frantic Escape, Innocent Bystanders is there a vocal or am I missing something really obvious & not made the connection? I didn't realise for 30 years until someone pointed it out that Soul Symphony, was basically the Instrumental of Get Out Of My Heart. And they were two of my favourites of all time Paul
  17. My issue went on ebay last week for £31. Perhaps because I didn't say it was Mint- or ex+ or something Paul
  18. Yeh, we had quite a scene going round Ormskirk in those days. and I remember the Rumbelos/ Russ incident. I think it revolved around some pressings including Walk In My Shoes by the "Magnificents". I also remember the Howard Mallett guy. Glad your, still around. Some mutual friends didn't make it. Paul
  19. Hello Mel, how are you mate. Yes,. I remember the night Elsie Frankson came down to Burscough football club. I was 15 and it was just before The 1973 August bank holiday Whitchurch dayer which was my first real do. Jeff Cheatham of the Soul spinners introduced me to Elsie & and I was going to get a name check in B&S. Unforunately the only slight mention I got was when he said, That people didn't look down on you because you were 15.. They feckin did, I was only 5 Foot 5 at the time . A few months after that it was Va Vas, Wigan and no sleep till Monday. Happy days. He certainly was not happy with Pete & Kieth was he. Didn't he threaten report them to trading standards? Paul Rimmer
  20. I've got a copy on evilbay at the moment finishing tomorrow night (Sunday) Paul
  21. Perhaps the reason you don't hear it is because compared to Bazzas list, it's shit. IMVHO Paul
  22. As someone who does not get out and about any more. Can someone tell me what Kenny Lynch "Movin' Away" has to do with "the scene"? Paul
  23. Human Beinz Paul
  24. Laura Lee "Rip Off". Love the rap in the middle, funny as feck. Paul
  25. I'm sure they were on at the Rose room Burnley at an alldayer in about 74/75 can anyone confirm this. I'm not sure, because I cracked up somthing wicked on the day and was the most paranoid person in paranoidville. A bad day was had by me. It seem weird that stuff you remember being released, starts to fetch big money. Paul
