  6. Many years ago I got a mint April Stevens MGM demo for £3, and a mint Tiffanies UK Chess Demo for 35p. At a stall in an indoor market I got a VG Patrice Holloway Love & desire UK Capitol issue for 25p. At another car boot I get there about 9 o'clock & found a stall with a box full of Mint Oriole singles. Must have been 60 odd records. But not one Motown one. The only thing I got was Hugo Montenegro Sherry(well it was big ish once!!!). Paul

  8. Just had a look at the Flemmings site, being originally from Southport, they were the jeans to have. I nearly ordered a pair, but, no stitched V shape on the front or back pockets, just some sort of vulture with a kipper in it's beak. Don't think I'll bother!!!! Paul

  11. Len Hardy from Torpoint was the main DJ then, but there were many of us Northerners who where in the Navy, and based round there. There were also many locals that used to frequent Wigan Yate etc. A good scene in Plymouth & Cornwall all through the late 70s & 80s. Paul
  12. If there is a competition, price against brilliance, including every track played on the scene, Spyder must be at the top. Of course this is just in my humble opinion. I don't think I'll every tire of listening or dancing to it. Got to be one of my funeral records. Paul

  15. Anyone else heard the Halfords advert on Heart FM(wife listens to it.....)? I'm sure whoever wrote the advert must have heard Steve Karmen, the bass start and deep voice narration. Very similar to Breakaway. Paul

  18. Got a Moses Smith Girl Across The Street for about a quid in 75 ish. Always thought it was a boot until I went to sell my records about 5 years ago & got Manships Boot guide & found out it was original.
