  1. Sold my records 5 or 6 years ago, and was very suprised at the bidding frenzy on my Salvadors 70s boot that went for 82 quid. Paul
  2. Haven't got a picture of them, but I remember in 1971 finishing my paper round and getting the last pair of 5 and a halfs in the sale. They were the bollox. Been trying to find something similar for years. I think Loakes do some. Got some nice similar looking shoes last birthday, UK made oxblood DMs. Paul
  3. You are wise Master.
  4. It did have the instructions, " you jump up and down and you turn around, bend your knees half way down to the ground". If I remember correctly Paul
  5. Every time Kab Darge is a talking head on one of these documentaries, he trots this Kung Fu statement out. It may be his opinion, but it makes me cringe every time I hear it. Its bollox as far as I'm concerned. Just my opinion though. The TV series made KF popular was broadcast in 73/74. Paul
  6. You know when you just pick up anything you find in junk shops, here's one of my buys. Good looking bloke that Andre!. Paul
  7. I think that was the point in the film, The young wannabe DJ was swearing & abuseing the punters, that's why Ray Henderson didn't want him on the decks. I used to get abusive when there was an empty dance floor(after a few beers!), I'd put something like E Rodney Jones, "R & B time" on and say things like "if you can't dance, here one with the feckin' instructions on"!!!! Of course it was all in jest. Paul
  8. Paul R replied to a post in a topic in Look At Your Box
Reminds me of Nothing But A Heartache. Oh, but without the singing. Paul
  9. I liked Texan Bars " sure are a mighty chew"!!! Paul
  10. It's also in the Independants concise tabloid version "I". Paul

  13. Phil Lowman Rock me till I want no more. On Palos. https://youtu.be/HS5nJnv2ePM Paul
  14. Wasn't the Beacon one of those John Kojak Harvey Intercity Soul Club things, Possibly at Yate, around 75 ish? Paul
  15. Anyone else in the deep south going to Bognor on Friday. I'm going with my daughter (modern type R&B girl) and her husband(Pink Floyd!). I realy must shut up & let them watch it ......Maybe Paul
  16. So you joined the Navy instead!!!!!! Paul
  17. Oops, was going to say the Willows until I read your post agin. Paul
  18. Many years ago I got a mint April Stevens MGM demo for £3, and a mint Tiffanies UK Chess Demo for 35p. At a stall in an indoor market I got a VG Patrice Holloway Love & desire UK Capitol issue for 25p. At another car boot I get there about 9 o'clock & found a stall with a box full of Mint Oriole singles. Must have been 60 odd records. But not one Motown one. The only thing I got was Hugo Montenegro Sherry(well it was big ish once!!!). Paul
  19. The most expensive record I evr bought back in the day. £6 just as it was going massive.
  20. Just had a look at the Flemmings site, being originally from Southport, they were the jeans to have. I nearly ordered a pair, but, no stitched V shape on the front or back pockets, just some sort of vulture with a kipper in it's beak. Don't think I'll bother!!!! Paul
  21. I think I saw them at Whitchurch Civic All dayer. Paul
  22. It is they!!! but if you notice, they were on during the early session which was more chart type records, although predominantly soul. Paul
  23. Len Hardy from Torpoint was the main DJ then, but there were many of us Northerners who where in the Navy, and based round there. There were also many locals that used to frequent Wigan Yate etc. A good scene in Plymouth & Cornwall all through the late 70s & 80s. Paul
  24. If there is a competition, price against brilliance, including every track played on the scene, Spyder must be at the top. Of course this is just in my humble opinion. I don't think I'll every tire of listening or dancing to it. Got to be one of my funeral records. Paul
