****LAURA RAIN RETURNS WITH NEW SINGLE**** Detroit soul singer Laura Rain returns with the first single from her upcoming release on UK label LRK Records. "I Am" is a tight and charging romp through time recalling the soulful pop music of West Grand Blvd, and it's driving Motor City beat. Laura's voice soars within the groove, with a passionate declaration of self independence, and in celebration of her unique identity. It is vintage soul at its best; jubilant, grooving, and a testimony to the listener, letting them know how you feel. 2021 has been busy for Laura Rain and her husband, producer/co-writer George Friend. Coming off the success of their last single "Closer to the Win" the two signed their first record deal with LRK Records in Cambridgeshire UK, and have been writing and recording new music non-stop. A recent collaboration with Seattle based producer UNKWN also led to the release of "Garnet", a highly successful sample collection receiving upper tier licensing placements. The songwriting duo were also presented with three Detroit Music Awards for "Outstanding Urban Songwriters", "Outstanding Urban Vocalist" and "Outstanding Blues Recording" for their edgy Memphis soul tinged single "Different State of Mind". "I Am" is the first single for 2021 from Laura Rain and the Caesars on LRK Records. Following the digital release, LRK Records will be pressing the song on a 7" 45rpm along with a full length LP later this year. The debut single will include a remix of "In My Life" on the B side, another uptempo Northern soul stomper. After releasing 5 singles in 2020, adding to their four full length albums, Laura Rain is poised to break new artistic ground. Entering its ninth year, the group is gearing up for touring once again, and creating a new future for their music. Throughout the pandemic, the group continued writing, recording, streaming and creating while expanding their audience via social media and online. The relationship with LRK has brought them awareness within the soul music community, and a wider international audience. The likes of Gladys Knight, Whitney Houston, Bob Marley and Janet Jackson, to name a few, had a massive influence on her ever growing love for music and entertainment. So the love of music was in her blood. Dawn started writing poetry at age 9, which then developed into songwriting. She would create songs and use other Artists instrumentals as a backing track, from the flip side of an LP and record her vocals over the top, using her dads Hi Fi system and plug in a microphone he had.
