  1. Yes mate its not that slow but still not a dancer for a lot of people it seems because its not got the standard beat, its a floater with strings for me
  2. Picked up a tune today with pretty bad label damage..."where's your love been.. The Sequins..Can't make out the lable..What makes me love you is the a side...Very nice 70s track..Can anyone help.. Also got "Here stands the man who need you" George Wilson (black Circle records)...Really nice ballad with instrumental flip side..Is this trck well known or getting plays.. Would like to know what kind of price they go for also please..
  3. Is the chuck wood track still big over there ... ..That was a big track for me and many others in the early days..Hope to see you soon mate..Olof is over her next month and is gonna play at my night, remember the last time Good time indeed...
  4. One of the records of the weekend for me at Cleethorpes was Four Tops.. "As long as you need me,i aint heard it since my teens,it sounded fantastic..Only a few people danced and quite a lot did not know it...Cheap as chips tune that will always rock my heart...Can anyone tell me who spun it,it could have been Ady,it was on the Sunday night.... It brought a tear to my eye while dancing...A lot of people will not dance to slower stuff and i love that, more room for the beat ballad brigade
  5. Hi Paul Good to meet you the other week in Barcelona, hope to meet again soon..It was the young lads from Leeds who spun Al Foster etc,i think...
  6. One of the first things i remember was "train by Don Thomas at some at club in Huddersfield 1981....I aint heard it get a play for a long time,it would be nice... other early tunes.. that first got me hooked George Benson on broadway I'll do anything Doris Troy Breakaway Steve Karmen As long as you need me Four Tops..This got a play at Cleethorpes and i don't think i've heard it get a play since my teens,it sounded fantastic and there was only a few of us dancing...Some well known people on the scene did not know it..top top tune indeed
  7. Yes just that Dave..I dance to records that different people put in all kinds of different boxes...Some would describe a record as "a deep soul,RnB /crossoverl mid-paced ballad with doo wop style vocals, bad arsed two step funk break to die for...name that tune The point i made was that i like to hear all styles in the same room on the same night..Sorry and don't mean to stray from topic...
  8. Very good point Baz..Who gives a flying fu"k,i've seen all the boxes ticked in the same venue in one room and thats how i like it... Wilson Pickett. is a great tune for me Its not shite like others have said, maybe they can't dance to it ..Each to there own as they say..
