  1. I think Dusty had a little bit more soul about her than Cilla ,no not a bit, quite a fooking lot...Not anti Liverpool Ken but i just can't get Cilla singing on blind date out of my mind now..A cat with a poker up its arsre comes to mind....I did like Cilla singing anyone who had a heart though,a tune i got from my mum...
  2. Loved Dusty from the age of 14 and always will..."some of your loving" gonna go home and play it later...Top lady indeed for me and many others...
  3. One step at a time...In my play box always....True soul record from the great lady....
  4. Yes the track was a spin at the funk/soul/acid jazz type nights in the 90s..It was a tune for the ladies it seems and camp men, thats just the ticket for you then my freind ..Enjoy
  5. It was playing in Beatin Rhythm today, track 2 was a real deep soul track that made me stop and listen ,can any of you tell me what it was and if its album only etc...
  6. I think there are enough young djs to keep a scene going but not on the scale we have now but enough to run niters a few times a year...It don't matter about age anyway, with modern science i and many others have a good 40 years left yet ..
  7. Great news for Mat Stokes,he put the thing together,me and many others took part in the filming..Its gonna be shown at art review in Newcastle in June...Wil get more info...Not sure if Matt wants it shown in other places yet???? it would be booted before he had chance to show it ...
  8. Take care and lets hope you back on your feet soon.. Regards Steve...
  9. All the copies have gone now...Lots of folk seem to like the first single...I think it really works in the club and for the a dancefloor, not a deep soul tune to listen at home to...Like many other tunes it will sound that much better if it aint battered to death...I love it for the dancefloor at the right time in a club with a good sound system...
  10. Got message Andy...
  11. I have about five promo copies of the new single,Four Leaf Clover if any of you want them...Sent from the record company....Email me....stevecato64@yahoo.co.uk.. first come first get....Free to you lot... ..You can add a cheque to pay for postage or see me out and about..I don't think its as good as the first single IMO... STEVE

  13. Hi Vonny Get a life and stay off here...Some real creepy blokes around who will get you in the family way ..See you all on Sat for plenty fun...Sorry off topic..Back to the mod debate....
  14. I too was at this Funeral, only met the guy a couple of times but it really got to me with all the London soul crowd there plus Dave Godin and many more...They could not fit all in the service with many many folk outside....A real send off and Soul Brothers six just melted everyone..Moments like that and the service for my dear freind That Girl Lynn(Davis) really bring us soul loving people all together...People dropping like flies now as we get older, get it while you can....Good choice from ANDY BB with "Let me down easy"..That would be one of my tunes also, one of the greatest tunes i have ever heard, real deal soul...Jerry Butler would also feature with Aware of Love anda good few others...Lets all get these tunes listed in case we pop our clogs soon..Would not want some of that church/death tunes that sound like something off the price is right or generation game ..Keep on keeping on... steve
  15. Good to see that the 30 min slots hold well with most....I hope you all know that Joan as been squeezed in a few spots over the years... ..
  16. Yes we have two shorter sets for djs at Soul Or Nothing...The crowd and the djs seem to like it that way..Gives a dja chance to play different sets at different times..Some djs with 1 early set could be playing to an empty place,a slot later on is good for them when the place fills up...Nothing set in stone though,i mix it up sometimes with a main guest having a i hour set...Keeps it fresh for us..All djs have a 30 min slot and a 40 min slot on Sat.....
  17. Playlists alone mean nowt..Whats the beer/women/dancefloor/sound like..etc etc etc..Takes more than a playlist to make my night...
  18. The clapping song would be the happy slapping song now

  22. I think its all been said before...Soul source is a place to meet freinds, share passion and learn from the soul police ... God bless mr Hughes...The best thing ever to come out of Wales...No the second best...We all love the sun center in Rhyl
  23. Good points Dan...I often go to my sisters and she's got kids who listen to some music with hate lyrics, gangbanging, steamin, macho bling bullshit..They too would have all homo's(their words not mine) strung from trees because some artist told them too..They know better now but so many kids take in these lyrics and it fuels hate..Aint enough love going around it seems...
