Just popped Curtis the album on this morning while pottering about...If this aint summer music then what is.."We people who are darker than Blue" heaven indeed..As the sleeve notes say "Curtis is the sound of revolution,not just a musical one but a spiritual,social and political revolution...Whats says you lot out there???..An album for me that stands the test of time..I aint up to all the soundfile stuff so any who can drop some soundfiles please do...

  4. Heard it for the first time at the Hideaway last month and it sounded pretty good to me,it got a great reaction,very nice version IMO...It was in the early hours and after some drinks,i will check the soundfile and see...
  5. Holy grail record Phil and stands the test of time...One of the great rare soul tunes fir the ears and the dancefloor...In my top 5... Tunes to make you cry...Baby Washington "it will never be over for me"...what a great version and does me in every time

On the music side its better than ever for me with plenty differnt sounds out there due to the fact that its quality and not just cost that gets a tune on the decks....Got so many good freinds from this scene who will be there for life,can't ask for much more really...Still some pondlife but that can be said about life in general.. Yes its a pretty healthy scene and people go where they please more and don't just follow the crowd...The hardcore crowd who want something different will have to really come together in the next few years as numbers fall away,less events and more smaller club nights coming together....Pretty happy i would say...

  14. Really knocked for six last Saturday at Keele when i got the news.. That special smile everytime she caught your eye..She was a person who could light a room up alone..Cheeky and lots fun the times i spoke to here...It will not be the same at Cleethorpes this year with no Syllvia,i am sure we will all have a quiet moment to reflect on the North East Princess... Freda Payne Sister Sledge Beginning of the End Motown Atlantic James Brown Jackson sisters classic Trojan reggae then its onto Shabba,ooooooooooops up side your head and the Fugees .. If its cds then you can get the best of the 60s/70s/80s/90s...Them four would do the whole job ...Thank f"ck i aint doing them no more..
