As we have said in other posts,tatse does change for a lot of folk over the years..I like different stuff at different times,in the main its everything from 64 to 73 covereing deep soul ballads,stompers,Cross over RnB and then some...Always nice to hear/play some underplayed/new(to my ears anyway)..Plus we all have certain oldies that never fail to move you....

I have some deeeeeeeeeeep disco in the box ,i do up to 1973 now ...Got a few nice little 70s tunes for you....Gonna mix it up as ever and play some beat ballad stuff alongside,deep soul,titty shakers,crossover,RnB..I have a page full of requests now,no more please but feel free to send any info for club nights,will try and give most of them a shout...Had a request from Europe..It said "have you got a snake" ,not sure what to reply back...

Update Reg..Liam is here already and Olof gone a month now....Liam and Olof have the same passion and the build up to a weekend...Olof aint sick of anything soul wise,he just had to go back to work in Sweden after a long long holiday here .....He will be back,he is missing the weekends already... Things i like about the soul scene,tooooooooooooooooooo many to mention...I try and get overseas as much as possible to soul nights,i like the buzz of another country and meeting like minded people...Sometimes my only connection is on the dancefloor when that sounds comes on,soul is in just one language

Was thinking myself Reg as i wrote it..It will be Monday/Tuesday soon and back to calling them a bunch of tw"ts ...I think others get that Friday feeling too...

All is well it seems..We all have had so many fantastic nights and met so many great people..Can't let the odd bad vibe get you down..Its like newspapers,they mainly print the horror story and don't tell you about all the good things....We are in a great scene and should thank the dear lord for that.. Nothing at all...I think its a non starter if you go for the 70s Wigan bags look..A few are doing it already but most have grown out of the fashion now...Vinyl too is a very iffy game now with regards to a shop,soo much on-line...

I am a weekend smoker with a beer and glad to see the smoking ban,it made me go outside for a few but i smoked far less than before...Good point about talking to folk outside,nice to talk to some new folk at Middleton outside without shouting over the music.... Now e have another problem though,the smell od shite from the gents at Middleton was the worst smell ever and no smoke to hide that,also the smell of people/farts in the main hall etc,gonna have to pump in some air freshner now..And before you say it Mr T,the smell from the gents was not me .. First time ever at home in the morning without my clothes smelling of smoke,what a plus..Really pitty my piss bag had leaked though,can't win em all.. Steve

pointless posts from some,they don't know any of the facts really.. Was it one on one Was it one and a few kicks from another Was it a fight or an attack Eye witness or cctv Is it a promoters problem what happens outside a venue... It all goes round in circles... The cctv footage should make it clear, if was an attack by one or two men or it was a fight between two men...If its an attack then the people who did this should take the blame,if its a fight then maybe both parties could make the peace and not let so many people get involved.... If i ran a venue and some person attacked another inside or outside then i would not want that person in the venue again,it would make no difference if it was a freind or a stranger.... I and many others don't really know much at all,let the footage bring all this to an end please... I and others are sick of it... Maybe let a few people see the cctv and then they could post what they see if the footage is clear..End of... Steve

Thats the problem shane..Some are very good with a mike and add to the night while others have done the bingo calleer training course...A few words through a good sound system are whats reqired in IMO,not feedback from some with a bag of marbles in the mouth...The mic is better for a big event or all niter but not really needed for small events,folk can come up to you and ask without having the vault the stage...

I have many good loyal freinds on the soul scene who i will know for the rest of my life, i have a good time most places i go and stay away from the bollocks if i can,its pretty easy,just don't engage in all the negative stuff with these creatures and they soon leave you alone and go and find some other bitter and twisted prick who thinks the same way.... A lot of rivals in the promoters/dj game,that will never change for some,money and ego can can be a bad combination but thats the way of the world...I have always said that i don't suffer fools,liars,cheats/backstabbers and thats the way it will stay,plenty good folk to make our soul weekends a treat.... Always try and stay possitive,the dickheads are a vocal minority and the good people a silent majority... .. Always look on the bright side of life
